Daily Inspiration: Meet Callie Walker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Callie Walker.

Callie Walker

Hi Callie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always had a love for photography, even as a kid. I would say my journey truly started in high school when I took a media class and then continued into college, where I minored in photography. My first few years out of college I pursued a career in marketing and PR but slowly started taking photography clients on the side. That side hustle organically grew to the point where I felt confident in quitting my job in 2019! Since then, I have been a full-time photographer and never once regretted my decision!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not totally smooth! I quit my job, and within the first year, the pandemic hit. When that happened, I had to pivot a little bit and take on marketing consulting side jobs to get me through 2020. Photography was still my main focus but by nature of the pandemic, I was not able to work as much as I hoped that first year. I felt super lucky that I had the resources to keep working and bridge the gap, but was a hard challenge that first year.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My approach is organic, vibrant, and colorful. I specialize in lifestyle and natural light photography. I capture many things but my heart lights up when I capture the raw chemistry between lovebirds, the warmth between families, and brand storytelling.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My need and want to continue to grow and learn. There is so much in this world to discover, and as a business owner of a creative business, I believe it is my duty to my clients to always work on my craft. I think that no matter your specialty if you have the passion to never stop working to become better, you can’t fail!
