Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Ivy
Hi Charles, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, Voyage Houston Magazine and readers! I’d like to share my story about how I started in the creative industry and got to where I am today.
I graduated from the Art Institute of Houston in 2000. Shortly after that, I began working in the oil and gas sector, where I compiled contracts for oil and gas listings that sold mineral rights. After that, I transitioned to a billboard company in Houston. I briefly ventured to Irvine, California, where I worked as an Art Director for an automotive group.
Over the years, I’ve held several roles, but today, I don’t have just one job; I have a few. I continue to work at Medlock Performance Livestock on a ranch and am the Social Media Manager for Samuel Yates Productions, Inc. In this role, I manage the social media for our client, The Search185 Podcast, which highlights the profound impact of faith in reconnecting listeners with God and Jesus, inspiring everyone to embrace life with courage and unwavering confidence.
Additionally, I operate EnvyInk, Inc., my agency, and I work on various projects as they arise. I am critical about my projects, choosing to collaborate only with clients whose visions inspire me or ignite my passion. Ultimately, I am committed to supporting businesses that promote meaningful values and enrich my life in exceptional ways.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth. I faced numerous challenges with various aspects of my life. While I won’t delve into specifics, I can say that it was a dark time for me. It was only by God’s grace that I was able to find my way back to the light.
If you’ve followed my previous articles, you may be aware of the trademark challenge I’m currently facing with my company, EnvyInk, Inc. Unfortunately, I’m unable to disclose many details at this time, but I appreciate your understanding and support as I navigate this complex situation.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have a diverse range of specialties! Currently, I am recognized for my exceptional creative work on The Search185 Podcast. Additionally, I excel in website development, SEO optimization, targeted Google PPC ads, and social media initiatives, which include impactful reels and engaging posts. My boldness and resilience truly set me apart from others.
I take great pride in my role with Medlock Performance Livestock on the ranch. Working with livestock brings me a sense of calm and a humble, joyful feeling of accomplishment. It’s a genuine gift that I cherish.
Moreover, I am very proud to serve as the social media manager for The Search185 Podcast for Samuel Yates Productions, Inc.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters to me are genuine and humble people who love me. These individuals are my family and a very small group of friends—about five people—who add value to my life and understand me without judgment. I’ve had to distance myself from many others, but the people who remain, along with those God has placed in my life, are meant to stay with me forever.
