Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Fulton
Hi Chris, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I discovered the world of digital art when I was a sophomore in high school at Cy Fair circa 1996. I have always enjoyed art and drawing, but being able to do it on a computer just mesmerized me. I knew then that I would somehow make it my career. I attended college at Sam Houston State University originally for a graphic design degree but changed to computer animation. During all of this, I was obsessed with customizing cars. I didn’t want what everyone else had. I wanted to stand out from the crowd. I never thought I would fuse my two passions into a business that supports my family and my staff.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a long road with many bumps, but you have to power through. When the phone isn’t ringing and emails are not coming through, it gets a little nerve-racking. Scaling at the right speed was also a challenge. You want to grow because you want to make more revenue, but it’s a fine line that you have to balance on. You don’t want to grow too fast or you’ll be swallowed alive by overhead and if you don’t grow at all, you may as well close the business. My friends and mentors have been amazing. I owe a lot of my success to them. Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My business is called Creative Wraps & Graphics, LLC. We specialize in the design, production and installation of vinyl wraps and graphics. We do everything from wrapping vehicles for commercial fleets and changing colors of cars to wall murals, floor graphics, banners, and more. I am very hands on with my business, doing all of the design and production and leading my install team during the installation process. I take my craft very seriously and am a 3M Preferred Graphics Installer, one of only a few in Houston. We are known for our creative designs, expert installation, and fast turn around on most projects.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I started my first business while I was attending college. It was a web design business that I started after taking one web design class. It was pretty successful for what it was.
