Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia Diaz.

Hi Claudia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I start training when I was 17 years old. I was having an unhealthy life and without a purpose, on my days one friend invite me to go to the gym Mugendo. After the first day there I really enjoy the classes Mugendo is a very disciplinary martial art where my Sensei Javier Saenz teach me and after a 6 months of training invited me to fight on one of his competitions. I make the fight and even losing I really enjoy the adrenaline and the feeling there fighting’. So after that, I take the decision to take this more seriously on training and after two months I fight again and get my first win. After that, I feel I have a purpose I start to train every day hard and learning more about how the fighter life works. Fighting around Spain for a couple of years and Two years after I take the decision to travel to Thailand because there is the place where have so many opportunities to grow professional. After a couple of months there I fight for first time on Muay Thai and won my fight. After that I back to Spain for one year I have two works different (real state and bar tender) to save money and move to Thailand because I really feel is my place to be and grow. And I do that, I went to there and make some fights then Tiger Muay Thai one of the best gyms on the world sponsored me giving me training and fights full time. I train there with so many awesome athletes on the world, high level and my coaches there was the Hickman Brothers. So I start my profesional cárer there fighting on Muay Thai, Kickboxing and MMA. I fight around the world in places like China, Singapore, Bangkok, Irland, etc… after almost 5 years there I make a 32 professional fights and fight on promotions like Em-Legend, One championship, WLF, Kunlun, Kungfu Girls, One Shincup and fight on local stadiums too. I have the opportunity to fight for a title WMC belt on -54kg and I won this belt. After this Combate Global the most big promotion for Latinos sign me a multi-contract. Then after a one-year training, I went to Miami for fight with Dulce Garcia a really favorite fighter of the promotion but I take the win on the second round via TKO. This open me the doors of the United States and continue my MMA carer here. Since April I live on the gym on Miami and fighting for Combate Global. Now I move to Houston to train here and get ready for my next fight on 8th of April on Miami where I gonna fight on a card where we are all women’ there. Today I’m grateful I do so much to be a profesional fighters and I’m not yet where I want to be but I know how much I grow since I start my professional carer and every day, I make the day count to be on the top some day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
On this way I have some injuries, on my debut profesional on MMA I fought a veteran Jenelyn Oslim and after three rounds of battle I lose vía decision and also broke my hand early on the first round. After that, I went into a fight again and broke my nose after a few minutes of fighting. It was hard for me because I know how hard I work but this is like this. Some days we win and another’s we learn.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What I do is train and learn every day how can I be the best martial artist possible. My game is always striking stand up fighting but I have already started to love the ground game, if I’m proud of something is about my unstoppable character. Always there for work. I think everybody has the opportunity to do what I do, and even best than me 100×100 but not everybody is disciplined or brave.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
One of the things I do most is reading. When I’m not in training I’m at home resting and spending time on have better mentality. I like the autor Lain Garcia Calvo. Have so many books beautiful I highly recommend for everybody who want to grow on whatever in life.
