Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Randolph.
Courtney, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My first entrepreneurial venture began when I was in high school. I sold hair bundles to my classmates because they were always complimenting the wigs and extensions I wore. Fast forward to today I’ve created several businesses, one of them being a cosmetics line of lipsticks. The cosmetic line taught me many things, how to source inventory, manufacture the product and how to package it. I also learned to negotiate with vendors on different continents at varying hours of the day, to hosting pop-up shops selling my very own product. I ultimately scrapped the cosmetics line and am currently working on launching something much bigger and better. My next brand is called Courtney Randolph Collection. I chose this name because this new line will embody all things Courtney. When I began my entrepreneurial journey, I would limit myself to one idea at a time, but ultimately I realized I’m capable of pursuing multiple ventures simultaneously. While pursuing entrepreneurship, I have obtained a real estate license servicing Houston Texas and its surrounding areas. I love what I do. Real estate ties in perfectly with my entrepreneurial ideas. Real estate allows me the flexibility I need as an entrepreneur as well as the funding needed to get all my ideas off the ground and running.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Being in the business sector of the world is not always easy. There are can be many challenges along the way. There were nights I remember having to force myself to stay awake until 5am just to speak to my vendors because they were overseas. Working with vendors in differing time zones is not for the faint of heart. There have been times where I’ve ordered sample products before mass producing a product and it being not at all what I wanted which pushed back launch dates. Being a businesswoman is a fulfilling career for me. What’s most rewarding is starting a business from scratch and making that first sale.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am both a professional real estate agent and a creative model. I work with buyers, sellers, and leases. I specialize in luxury properties. I also have worked with several photographers throughout the years.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love Houston. I could not have chosen a better place to live and pursue my interests. Houston is home to a lot of entrepreneurs such as YouTubers, musicians, actors, singers, dancers, real estate moguls, etc. Just being in Houston is inspirational. A potential downside to living amongst so many young and successful entrepreneurs is that It can be difficult not to compare yourself to others. You may find yourself not giving yourself the credit that you deserve for your own personal successes. As a businesswoman, there is so much to be done. Always a bigger goal to achieve which is why it is important to celebrate those smaller achievements along the way. When you’re an entrepreneur, you typically are never short on new ideas. But it’s important to reflect on where you began as well as where you’re headed.
