Daily Inspiration: Meet Crystal Batiste

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Batiste.

Hi Crystal, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
October 24, 2021.

That’s the day I stopped playing small.

For years, I’d been designing graphics, laying out magazines, creating books for The Nakid Foundation. Just doing my thing, never thinking bigger than the mission in front of me.

Then one request shifted everything.

A client asked me to format and print a book for her husband. Simple enough. But something about that moment made me pause.

These skills I’d been using to serve others they were worth more than I’d given them credit for.

I called my mom, heart racing with that nervous excitement that comes right before you leap into something new.

“I want to start a business,” I told her. “I just don’t know what to call it.”

We sat in the family room her on the couch, me in the rocking chair throwing ideas back and forth like we were solving the world’s biggest puzzle.

Then it hit us.

Clear Impression.

Clear. Like Crystal. My name. My vision. My purpose.

Impression. Because I’ve always believe in leaving people and places better than I found them.

That wasn’t just a clever name. It was a promise.

Four and a half years later, I’m still keeping that promise.

From that one book request to countless brands, events, and custom stationery each project carries that same intention.

To every client who trusted me with their vision, every late night tweaking designs until they were perfect, every moment of doubt I pushed through to get here. This journey is just beginning.

Now I help people brand their businesses, create stunning custom stationery for all their events, and leave impressions that actually matter.

And honestly? I can’t wait to see what impression we’ll make next.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road wasn’t smooth. For years, I played small using my design skills to serve others while never claiming my own worth. The biggest struggle wasn’t learning the craft. It was believing I deserved to build something of my own.
But every late night, every moment of doubt, every leap of faith brought me here.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I wear a lot of hats and I wear them proudly.

For 16 years, I’ve been an educator, shaping young minds in the classroom. But my work extends far beyond those walls.

As President & CEO of The Nakid Foundation, I lead a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to building character and positive self-worth in young girls ages 9-18 through education and entertainment. This work is my heartbeat empowering the next generation to see their value and step into their purpose.

I’m also the owner of Clear Impression Designs, where I help people brand their businesses and create stunning custom stationery for all their events. Every project I take on carries the same intention: leave an impression that actually matters.

Through teaching, speaking, mentoring, and coaching, I unapologetically pour into everyone I meet. Whether it’s through community outreach programs or one-on-one sessions, my mission stays the same: leave people better than I found them.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Family & Consumer Science with a focus on Family Studies from Lamar University a foundation that guides everything I do.

What am I most proud of?

My family. Hands down.

Being a wife and bonus mother grounds me. Everything I build, every life I touch, every lesson I teach it all comes back to the example I want to set for my family and the legacy I want to leave.

What sets me apart?

I don’t just talk about empowerment I embody it. I’ve lived through the struggles of playing small, sacrificing myself, and losing my identity in service to others. I found my way back. And now, I help others do the same.

I’m not here to give you cookie cutter advice or surface level motivation. I’m here to walk with you through the real, messy, beautiful work of becoming who you were always meant to be.

That’s what I do. That’s who I am.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Whew…its a lot, but the most important is the bible!
