Daily Inspiration: Meet Dana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dana.

Hi Dana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago and moved to the United States in 2001. After living in New York and Chicago, I made Texas home in 2006 and have built both my life and career in the Houston area.

My journey in real estate began in 2013 as a Realtor, where I developed a deep appreciation for the importance of education, communication, integrity, and exceptional service throughout the buying and selling process. I loved helping clients navigate what is often one of the biggest decisions of their lives.

In November 2017, I was recruited into the title industry to focus on sales and business development. That opportunity opened an entirely new chapter for me. I discovered that my greatest strength was not simply generating business, it was building meaningful relationships, helping real estate professionals grow, and finding ways to bring genuine value to their businesses.

Over the years, my philosophy has become simple: it’s not about the transaction; it’s about the relationship. I believe success comes from showing up, serving others well, sharing knowledge, and helping the people around you succeed.

In 2026, I became a Jay Shetty Certified Life & Success Coach, adding another layer to the work I already love. It allows me to combine my real estate and title experience with coaching principles that help professionals gain greater clarity, confidence, and purpose in both business and life.

Today, I continue to grow, evolve, and challenge myself while staying grounded in what has always mattered most to me, relationships, service, authenticity, and making a positive impact on the people I have the privilege to work with.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Navigating a divorce while managing major life changes required me to redefine what stability, success, and even my future looked like. At the same time, I was rebuilding my career and learning to trust myself through seasons of uncertainty. Those challenges taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of continuing to move forward even when the path isn’t clear. Each transition ultimately helped shape me into a stronger professional, mother, and woman and gave me a deeper understanding of what it means to rebuild with purpose.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My role as a Title Sales Executive goes far beyond selling title services. I serve as a strategic partner to residential and commercial real estate professionals connecting them with the right people, resources, education, technology, and opportunities to help grow their businesses while ensuring their clients have a trusted title team from contract to close.

What I’m most known for is being a connector. I genuinely enjoy bringing people together and creating relationships that can lead to opportunities, collaboration, and growth. I pay attention to what people need and often find myself thinking, “I know someone you should meet.”

My background as a Realtor gives me a unique perspective because I understand the business from the agent’s side. I know the importance of responsiveness, communication, and having partners who bring value beyond the transaction.

In 2026, becoming a Jay Shetty Certified Coach added another layer to how I serve others, allowing me to incorporate clarity, confidence, and personal development into the business relationships I build.

Ultimately, I want to be known not simply for the business I generate, but for the connections I create, the value I bring, and the people I help move forward.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’ve learned that some of the greatest growth in my life has come from being willing to take a risk before I had every answer. For me, risk-taking isn’t about being impulsive, it’s about recognizing when growth requires you to move beyond what is comfortable.

I’ve taken significant risks personally and professionally, from rebuilding my life after major transitions to changing career paths and, more recently, investing in becoming a certified coach. Each required me to trust myself, start again, and be willing to be uncomfortable.

My perspective today is that staying where you’ve outgrown can sometimes be a greater risk than stepping into the unknown. I try to make thoughtful decisions, but once I believe an opportunity aligns with who I am and where I’m going, I’m willing to bet on myself.
