Daily Inspiration: Meet Danica

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danica

Hi Danica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always had a passion for modeling. Early on, I connected with local hobbyist photographers seeking models, which allowed me to quickly build a strong portfolio. As I shared my photos across various social media platforms, I was approached by a headhunter, leading to my first professional shoot in December 2010.
In 2015, I took an 18-month hiatus due to personal circumstances. When I returned to the industry, I was met with a warm welcome and even won my first industry-wide award! While I had previously won magazine-specific awards, this one was especially meaningful to me!
Since then, my journey has been filled with incredible experiences and opportunities!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I initially thought my size would be a hindrance and my own insecurities were my biggest obstacle in the beginning. After I got over myself, my journey became relatively smooth, with the main challenges arising from interactions with other models and talent. Not everyone approaches the industry with good intentions, particularly when they feel threatened by another’s progress or success. It can be ruthless!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
First and foremost, I am a body-positive influencer who embraces and celebrates my curvy physique. In addition, I am an adult actress. For me, these two roles are deeply intertwined, as both contribute to my sense of self-confidence and empowerment. I am most proud of the fact that, over the past 14 years in this industry, I have consistently remained resilient in the face of negativity. People are not nice to influencers who look like me. Nor are they kind to those of us in the adult industry. I believe it’s crucial not to let such challenges bring you down.

How do you think about luck?
I view luck similarly to religion— some may feel the need to attribute their success or circumstances to something larger than themselves, I personally do not share that belief. I have worked very hard to achieve all I have. Success is determined by ones drive and effort, not by luck.
