Daily Inspiration: Meet Daniel Valles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Valles.

Hi Daniel, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
If you’d asked me almost 7 years ago if I could have pictured myself being where I am currently, I would have said NO WAY! Growing up I was always surrounded by such strong and powerful women in the beauty industry, I remember being in awe of the transformations I’d see happen in front of me. It wasn’t just a transformation of their hair. It was almost like I got to see them re-discover their confidence and their inner beauty. I knew from that moment on I wanted to be a part of that! I love people, the interaction, the communication, but most importantly the ability to connect and really get to know people! I started off behind the chair at a salon company that gave me so many resources and education, it really ignited a fire inside of me to keep growing. After almost 4 years, I had to take a leap of faith and see if I could sustain as a booth renter and sure enough, it paid off in ways I couldn’t imagine, I decided to take it a step further and run a small business alongside my best friend but no one could have prepared me for the pandemic that SHUT THE WORLD DOWN, the amount of fear, doubt, and stress I felt was unreal. My community in Bryan / College Station didn’t let me down my clients took such great care of me and really gave me the push to keep fighting. I decided to move to San Antonio with my husband to re-invent myself and take my career to new heights all while starting a new life with my husband! I love what I do and I’m forever grateful for all the doors my career has opened!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The pandemic brought forth a whole new aspect of being behind the chair. People were sick, people were losing their loved ones, losing their jobs, their lively hoods. I felt such a great responsibility to heighten the experience I provided for my clients, I wanted to do anything and everything I could to make them feel better!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a hairstylist, but behind the chair, I’m a therapist, a friend, a listener, a magician to some! My goal is always to help people realize their inner True Beauty!

What was your favorite childhood memory?
As a child, I would watch my 2 aunts do hair and literally transform people. I couldn’t wait to see how happy they were and how grateful they were! That ignited my passion for hair!
