Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Ventura.
Danny, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Gloria and I are originally from Chile, married for 18 years and blessed with two brilliant children. We have been living in the United States for 13 years, and for the past 3 years, we have been in Houston, Texas. I graduated from the Catholic University of Chile as a musician and educator, a university with deep classical roots that, combined with my versatile musical tastes, has allowed me to enjoy the greatness of various musical genres. Currently, I am fortunate to be a music producer and mixing engineer for various artists, which has led to nominations for prestigious awards such as the Latin Grammys and Dove Awards, among others. My beautiful wife Gloria is a qualified special education specialist, but she also has a wonderful angelic voice and is my favorite composer. We are both singers and songwriters, working and collaborating with many artists, yet we had never considered making our own music until we decided to embark on our journey as independent artists. In just a couple of hours, we had created our first song: “Tu Eres Mi Paz” (“You Are My Peace”)—”Peace in silence, Peace in uncertainty, Peace that arrives on time”—unaware that the next morning I would begin to experience such intense pain in my head that it would lead me to the emergency room and subsequently to cranial surgery due to a skull fracture, leaving me convalescent for the following months, unable to work or continue pursuing our dream as entrepreneurs. It was then that “Tu Eres Mi Paz” took on meaning and became the strength that accompanied us during this time of physical, emotional pain, and waiting. At the same time, it marked the beginning of 10 songs that are part of our first album of our lives called “FRUTO” (“FRUIT”). Currently, I am in constant recovery, but this process inspired us to transform each of our prayers directed to God into songs that speak of Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faith, Gentleness, and Self-Control as the FRUIT of a better way to live, which can still be experienced even amidst any process we must go through.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think the hardest part at the beginning was expressions like this: ‘Why did you start so late?’ (we’re in our forties). ‘You may have the music, but that’s only half of the entire industry. If you had started earlier…’ Then there were social media: the numbers don’t lie. We only had 4 followers: my parents and my in-laws, hahahaha. And of course, there’s the budget. Investing everything we had for a divine reason, without knowing it was also our venture, was a bit disconcerting.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Music Producer and Mixing Engineer, and I truly enjoy working on each song from its arrangement, incorporating musical elements until achieving a sound engineering quality that is as competent as any trending hit.
Together with my wife Gloria, we are also professional Singers, collaborating as background vocalists in various musical projects, both in concerts and recordings.
Additionally, we greatly enjoy composing for different Christian artists such as Marcos Witt, Alex Campos, Un Corazón, among others.
However, as ‘Danny and Gloria’ in our new phase as independent artists, the passion for conveying our process through music and Songwriting in such an honest way is unmatched. We are fortunate.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson we have learned is that ‘IT’S NEVER TOO LATE’ to start pursuing what your heart is passionate about. It doesn’t matter if the resources are not enough or if your age doesn’t match the requirements. Having a dream and the ability to enjoy it in perhaps a simple and initial way will allow you to see and live it to its fullest potential in the future. Through passion, obstacles will be moved, and even the temptation to give up will be overcome. There is a God who promises to be with us always, and with His help, you can start today, right where you are and at the time you are in, and you will see that conquering your dreams is possible.
