Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Reggie Banard.
Hi DJ Reggie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started djing back in 2011 in college doing parties and shows and progressed to a better position when I moved to Houston from east Texas, where I went to school. My late great friend Byron jones pushed me to be the best DJ I could be. I do this for Byron and the people that want to see me win!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It wasn’t always smooth. I’ve had situations when I’ve had my equipment stolen, computer shutdowns and all. My biggest one was when COVID hit. It was more of a figure out what to do situation. I mostly did mega clubs and festivals so it was different from going from in the light to in quarantine.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a professional DJ, and have been for 11 years fully. I’m most proud of winning the Monster DJ competition back in 2013 & 2015 in Louisiana. Being named DJ of the year was also an honor in 2018. I think what sets me apart from others in my musically inclined brain GOD has given me. The ability to present a vibe to the people. The reactions are priceless!
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
To anybody that wants to be a DJ it’s very simple. If you put in the work and effort, you will reap the benefits of anything. That’s just in life in general. I wish I had somebody to teach me as I’ve taught others. Being a mentor is something that I never had the chance to witness.
