Today we’d like to introduce you to Don Gaskin.
Hi Don, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was actually sitting in a friend of mine’s backyard at a fish fry whose been DJing for over 25 years. He asked if anybody wanted to learn to DJ and I said sure. I worked on it with him for months. Spent nights at his house practicing and learning how to actually work the equipment, as well as learning the art of mixing/blending music. One thing he always told me was that he can give me the tools but he couldn’t apply them for me. That I had to learn on my own. Once I did, it’s been nothing but great things ever since. Marketing myself, staying humble and consistent have been huge keys to becoming who I am today.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been the path of least resistance but it also hasn’t been extremely hard. It’s all about patience and knowing and going after exactly what you want. You will only get out of it what you put into it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m currently a System Technology Specialist II with Digisonics/Intelerad Medical Systems. My job is to resolve escalated support cases for major hospitals and clinical organizations. The thing I’d say I’m most proud of is the fact that I have great drive and determination to get things done. What sets me apart from others is that I don’t wish things would happen for me. I actually go out and make them happen. No greater feeling!
Who else deserves credit in your story?
There have been many people aling the way who have supported me but on person in particualr gave me the tools I needed to get to where I am.
