Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Butler.
Hi Donna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I found the process of making soap interesting. I started gifting the soap to my friends and family.
Everyone loved it so much I turned it into a business. When doing research, I felt that soap businesses were over charging for their soaps. I believe that good soap and skin care should be affordable to all. I made it my mission to make wonderful products that people could afford.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been the smoothest, while starting my business during the pandemic. Cancelled markets, stalled deliveries, and supply shortages made things difficult.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am known for my soap being the local Soap Dealer. I make artisan soap with natural ingredients.
The thing I am most proud of is being able to make this my full-time job. I get to go to work every day and love what I do.
What sets me apart from others is I stay consistent and simple. Our products are made with natural ingredients, no parabens, no phthalates, just simple clean products.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
That running a small business is not for the weak.
