Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddie Middleton.
Hi Eddie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2016, I started off with $500 and the idea towards having my own brand and being my own boss. It’s 2022 now and I have twice as much product, twice as many riders, and twice the amount of fans and a great audience to back our accomplishments as a legit skateboard company.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Since Covid, we have had a slowdown on board production and sales due to turnaround times and lack of product. I dealt with bankruptcy earlier this year through a distribution company that fell through and lost over $1300. The motivation and drive to a successful board brand hasn’t slowed down though. We’re still pushing and the support is still coming!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I do everything for my brand that needs to be done! Aside from the graphics (ran by one of my best friends ever in life), I make the orders, I run the account pages, I schedule the trips and events we plan, I promote in other cities and states digitally and physically, and I perform for my own brand in the field myself as well!
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I like that our city (San Antonio) is very diverse and there’s no category for a skateboarder/fan that vibes with our brand.
What I like least about our city is that in a lot of cases, we don’t work together as much as we should. This city would thrive and if so, everybody could eat!
