Today we’d like to introduce you to George Bramlett.
Hi George, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a retired Vietnam Era Veteran and concentrate on Classical Realism. My artistic talents were inherited and inspired by my father. Art is something I have enjoyed my entire life but have only been able to focus on in the more recent years. I place an emphasis on the details of each work of art in order to truly bring the subjects to life and for the audience to feel a moment in time. I am continuously seeking the next new challenge. I have enjoyed connecting with others who share my passion for art and cultivating a network of creative minds who support and nurture the growth of our shared gifts. My current artistic achievements include the Lone Star Art Guild 1st Place, People’s Choice Award – Conroe Art Gallery, and Finalist in the Madley National Art Show.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Been a smooth road but it has been challenging becoming known for my art and being able to sell the pieces I create.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an artist who specializes in photo realistic fine arts using oil paints, pastels, graphite and other mediums. My goal is to go a step beyond and truly capture the soul of the subject. I am most proud of an oil painting I did of my wife’s grandparents as it is a piece that can be passed down through the family and it shares the special story of their life.
What sets my work apart from others is the extra time and attention given to every characteristic and attribute so that each detail pops with realistic textures and colors.
How do you think about happiness?
I am filled by the joy my work brings to others. It makes me feel good when others find a connection to my art or when it strikes a special memory for them. Sometimes it is just the admiration of each piece of work that I also find fulfilling and encouraging to start the next one.
