Hi Imani, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
So basically, I started doing lashes 4 years ago, in 2018. I had just quit my job because of school but I needed a source of income. So, I ended up taking a lash course & went from there! It took me a while to get where I am now, I can finish a full mega set in an hour now & my lashes last up to 4 weeks, no exaggeration. Plus, I offer lash courses! So if you want to become a lash tech, hit me up! I recently just moved into my 2nd suite & I’m looking to open my storefront & start selling my products very soon. Overall, It’s been a cool journey. Definitely worth it.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For me, it wasn’t a smooth road. I kept quitting & starting again. Lash extensions can be very difficult to do sometimes, especially when being a beginner. To this day, it’s days where the lashes are sticking, the glue isn’t at the right temperature & I just feel like going home. You just have to push through & be consistent. Never give up. I’m still learning & finding ways to perfect my craft.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I do lash extensions, specializing in volume sets. Lashing is an art, and it’s so many ways you can do a lash set. From mixing different curls, lengths, colors, bottom lashes, decals, etc. It’s always a new look with lash extensions. What sets me apart from others is my time, fluffiness, fullness, wispiness, availability, & longevity. My sets are very cute, honestly, I feel like pictures don’t do them any justice. My clients love to call me a hidden gem, LOLOL.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory has to be going to Honduras every summer. I’m fully Honduran so in my culture, our family goes to Honduras for the whole summer! It’s the funniest thing to do, even to this day!
