Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackeline Gonzalez.
Hi Jackeline, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I am writing to share with you the journey that led me to become an Attorney.
My passion for the law and desire to advocate for justice was ignited at a young age, fourteen years old when I witnessed the power of legal representation in ensuring fairness and equality in society. Growing up, I was inspired by stories of renowned attorneys who made a significant impact on their communities through their legal expertise and unwavering commitment to upholding justice.
I graduated as Valedictorian from Pasadena High School in 2012, attaining a full ride to University of Houston Main Campus. I went to University of Houston from 2012-2015 and graduated in 3 years with a Bachelors in Business Administration and Concentration in Human Resources. I was not only a full-time student but a full-time employee as well.
After completing my undergraduate degree, I started working at SolvChem, a Chemical and Packaging Company on Mykawa Road where I developed a strong foundation in critical thinking and analytical skills. I started as their Human Resources Admin, then their Human Resources Generalist, then their Project Specialist and Customer Service Manager. While working at SolvChem, I decided to pursue a career in law. I enrolled in Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where I immersed myself in the study of various legal disciplines, honed my research and writing abilities, and actively participated in moot court competitions and legal clinics.
During my time in law school, I continued to work full time at SolvChem, where I was able to fung my studies. This experience solidified my passion for Law and provided me with invaluable insights into the day-to-day challenges and responsibilities of a legal practitioner.
Upon graduating from law school and passing the bar exam, I continued to work at SolvChem as their corporate attorney, where I expanded my legal knowledge and skill set. In 2022, I decided to work Contract for SolvChem and Founded Jackeline Gonzalez Attorney At Law PLLC. Since 2022, my business has expanded significantly; we now have over 20 employees, an office in Pasadena, TX, and an office in McAllen, TX. By this summer, we should have a third location open.
Our passion for Law continues to grow and we continue to pave the path and be the voice for others.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As I reflect on my journey towards becoming an attorney, I am compelled to share with you the struggles and challenges that I have faced along the way. While the path to this profession is undoubtedly rewarding, it has been far from easy for me.
The journey began with the daunting task of navigating through the rigorous academic requirements of law school. The endless hours of studying, the pressure of exams, and the constant need to stay ahead in a highly competitive environment often left me feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. There were moments when self-doubt crept in, making me question my abilities and my decision to pursue this challenging career path.
Beyond the academic challenges, I also encountered obstacles in securing internships and gaining practical experience in the legal field. The job market was highly competitive, and opportunities were scarce.
Furthermore, the financial burden of pursuing a legal education weighed heavily on me. Balancing the costs of tuition, books, and living expenses while trying to make ends meet was a constant source of stress. I often found myself juggling multiple jobs and sacrificing personal time to make ends meet, all while trying to stay focused on my academic and professional goals.
Despite these struggles, I have persevered, driven by my passion for the law and my unwavering commitment to achieving my dreams. Each obstacle I have overcome has only made me stronger and more determined to succeed in this demanding yet fulfilling profession.

I am the founder and lead attorney of Jackeline Gonzalez Attorney At Law PLLC. I have dedicated my career to advocating for individuals in need of expert legal representation in various matters, but we specialize in immigration and criminal defense.
With a primary focus on immigration law, I have honed my expertise in navigating the complexities of the U.S. immigration system. I am committed to helping individuals and families achieve their immigration goals, whether it be obtaining visas, securing green cards, or seeking asylum. My in-depth knowledge of immigration law and procedures allows me to provide comprehensive and personalized legal solutions tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.

From the very beginning, we have embraced risk as a driving force behind our success. The decision to leave our corporate roles and establish our own law firm was a leap of faith fueled by a shared vision of creating a legal practice that prioritizes excellence, client satisfaction, and community impact. We knew that the road ahead would be challenging, but we were determined to forge our path and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
