Jasmine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a 6-year licensed cosmologist who decided to take the path as a freelance makeup artist. My passion for creativity has been a significant part of my life since I was a young girl. After battling cancer at the age of 12, I discovered a love for makeup, which has since blossomed into a fulfilling career. My work allows me to express my creativity and bring beauty into the world, which is something I deeply enjoy and find rewarding.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting out, I worked at a makeup counter, which was invaluable for gaining knowledge and boosting my confidence as a makeup artist. When I made the switch to freelancing, it was more challenging than I anticipated. Building a clientele and establishing a reputation are crucial in this field; it takes patience and consistency. Overall, this has been a tremendous learning opportunity and remains a continuous work in progress every day.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am known for creating soft, simple glam looks that enhance my clients natural beauty. Personally, as a creative, my favorite looks to do are those that are more colorful and challenging. One thing I admire about my work is that I am versatile and can do a bit of everything.
What sets me apart as a makeup artist is my professionalism and customer service experience. I believe that beautiful makeup is important, but ensuring the client feels comfortable and valued makes all the difference.
Any big plans?
In the near future, I am looking to make some upgrades to my makeup suite. My goal is to create an even more comfortable and inviting environment for my clients. By enhancing the ambiance, I aim to elevate the overall experience of their service. This will not only contribute to their comfort but also ensure that each visit feels special and memorable.
