Daily Inspiration: Meet Jasmine P-Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine P-Jackson

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I originally started vlogging in April of 2019 via YouTube and was the social media manager for the hair salon I worked at in 2020-2021. In November of 2024, literally on 1 year anniversary of my baptism, I was urged to get back into the flow of creating. I dabbled in participating on Tiktok, but was not fully committed until December 2024, before the “ban.” For the whole month of January, I was able to intentionally and consistently grow on the platform, and start the development of my brand “Jass’s Space in Christ.” Right now, I plan to have a cohesive presence on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. I am aiming to use this platform to be a bridge between the community and local business owners. Yes, working with big-name brands is an amazing opportunity, however, I want to be a part of the movement that catapults middle-class entrepreneurs to establish a legacy and financial stability for their families. Although there has been a focus on Black Creators only supporting Black businesses, I want my brand to be known for operating on the foundations of Christ. This is not by focusing on my culture or background but on the commonality of those oppressed by those in higher places. Presently, I am building my online presence, while working full-time in a local school district, and pursuing my BA in Communications Studies with/ an Interpersonal concentration and minor in Special Populations. Working in the Exceptional Student Department, goes hand-in-hand with my brand, working in ways to help dismantle the overrepresentation and scrutinize those who do not typically fit the “status quo.”

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Yes, it has been challenging. Much like anything in life worth having, you are going to experience some setbacks or redirections. I choose to focus on how a failed attempt can be used in future planning. The main obstacle has been getting outside of my head and not to overthink it. For a while, I was afraid of being perceived, and by walking inauthentically to appease other’s feelings, I neglected my own. I had to find a common ground of being okay with who I am to the core and living in my truth, regardless of how others felt about it. With content creation, it is best to portray your authentic self, and you have to constantly remind yourself of the birthday cake analogy. Not everyone likes birthday cake, and in that percentage of those who do, they might not like the one you like.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a multifaceted woman! I have a Media Kit with the information and services that I provide, and I am working on my flyer for my Notary services. I am a wife/mother, so I am always finding new ways to nourish my family with beneficial ingredients. I have been blessed with the ability to create in different niches. This includes making digital products and designing and printing stickers; I am licensed in all aspects of hair, skin, and nails, making resin products and stationery. The list goes on and on. However, what makes me stand out is my background in multicultural and interpersonal communication. I have used my educational background to make, and maintain connections with people who differ from myself. This is also how I can grow my online presence by reaching a diverse audience. With this audience, I offer Local Businesses the opportunity to partner with me for exposure to a varied community.

What are your plans for the future?
Besides growing and maintaining this brand, there are no specific plans outlined yet. I would love to be able to share my experience in the PR industry with future creators, especially with my students who have expressed an interest in Media Production. Although I do not exactly strive to call myself an influencer, I want my online presence to allot me opportunities as one. Being able to experience high-profile events allows me to plant seeds of wisdom and truth in those willing to hear. Being a representation of what walking with Christ looks like in a world that abandons morals and basic principles. I am learning that we can plan down to the very last detail, but if it does not align with the Most High’s plan, it will not last for a second. My ultimate goal is to keep Christ at the center of all that I do, and I look forward to being able to look back to see how far He has brought me.
