Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Duncan with Jenna Duncan Photography.
Hi Jenna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My love for photography begin when I was little. I loved capturing moments in photographs and looking back on them. In college, I took photography courses and would spend my weekends shooting and processing film in the darkroom.
I began my photography business part-time nine years ago after I had spent a few years taking photographs for friends and family. A few years in, my clientele and my dreams were growing! I had just given birth to our son when I decided to make the leap and pursue Jenna Duncan Photography full-time. I sat down and made plans, set many goals for myself and have spent endless hours working to attain each of them. Now, five years after jumping in full-time, I am incredibly grateful for the way this passion of mine has grown. I have the absolute best clients and consider each of them a friend.
In the past two years, I have been able to open a private light and airy studio complete with a curated wardrobe for Moms and kids to choose from for their sessions. I also offer heirloom and fine art products for my clients to choose from following their sessions and I absolutely love seeing the art we have created together adorning the walls of their homes.
At Jenna Duncan Photography, I specialize in Motherhood, Family and Newborn Lifestyle portraits. I am so passionate about creating beautiful, timeless, organic and intimate images that my clients will forever cherish. Our sessions are relaxed, enjoyable and so beautiful. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t believe that owning your own business is ever without challenges, setbacks, doubts and fears along the way. There have been times when I have been absolutely overloaded and didn’t know if I could get it all done. There have been times when family had to come first and I had to take fewer sessions for that month or week. Of course, I have also had moments where I have doubted myself or faced a challenge that seemed too big. However, each and every one of these moments has made me and Jenna Duncan Photography what it is today! I have had to look doubts or trials in the face and make a choice to work harder, believe in my dreams, trust my vision and keep pushing forward. I have seen so much growth not just in myself but in this dream and this business because of that. I am so passionate about serving my clients by creating beautiful, timeless images for them and I am grateful every single day that I get to do that.

At Jenna Duncan Photography, I specialize in Motherhood, Family and Newborn Lifestyle Portraiture.
I feel incredibly blessed to get to create a luxury experience for my clients and offer organic, timeless and beautiful images for so many Mothers, families, newborns and children all around Houston! Our sessions are relaxed, intimate and so special. I let the children lead as we play, laugh and snuggle with Mom and/or Dad while I capture those organic, tender moments that really matter.
Clients are able to use either my private light and airy studio or my field for their portraits both of which offer the perfect dreamy, natural light for their session. I also offer a full, curated wardrobe of neutral, timeless gowns for Moms and boutique clothing for babies and kids. My clients absolutely love getting to skip the stress of shopping for their sessions and love the assurance that any item they choose from my wardrobe will photograph beautifully. Clients also have the option to add on hair and makeup done on site for a full, luxury experience. I also offer heirloom artwork that clients may choose from to display in their home following their session.
