Hi Jessica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
While on vacation, my sister and I started talking about different business ideas, and the conversation naturally turned to our shared love of seasonal decorating. When we were younger, our mom would transform our home each winter with fresh evergreens gathered right from our yard in Washington State. Those cozy memories — the scent of cedar and the feeling of warmth they brought — sparked our inspiration to create a business that brings that same seasonal magic to others.
We launched our first season in the fall, focusing on creating custom porch displays filled with vibrant pumpkins sourced directly from local Texas farms — right in the Pumpkin Capital of the World. Our goal was to start local, building connections right here at home, and our calendar filled up in just a couple of weeks.
We immediately began planning for the winter season with a vision of creating porches that captured the feeling of our childhood home. Our hometown — known as the Christmas Tree Capital of the World — gave us the perfect inspiration and source for our fresh evergreens.
This winter, our goal is to expand across the greater Houston area, designing stunning evergreen displays that bring a fresh winter scent and a touch of the Pacific Northwest’s natural beauty to Texas homes.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The most challenging part to figure out was the logistics — how to source our products while maintaining the highest level of quality and freshness. With just the two of us (and the help of our families’ “free labor”), we spent countless long days and late nights bringing our vision to life. It hasn’t been easy, but we know this is all part of the adventure — one that only lasts two seasons each year.
