Daily Inspiration: Meet Jesús Arias

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesús Arias.

Hi Jesús, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out with a real passion for storytelling and curiosity about how ideas spread. That passion eventually led me to work with several media outlets, including Online Chronicle, Stock Sense, and a few others, where I honed my skills in writing, editing, and interviewing people from all kinds of backgrounds.

Over time, those experiences helped me understand what truly makes a story resonate, not just the facts, but the human element behind them. In 2020, I launched The Arias Journal, which began as a small independent newsletter and has since grown into a publication with a dedicated readership, a podcast, and a small but talented team of contributors.

Today, I focus on long-form interviews and in-depth features that connect local perspectives with bigger ideas. Whether it’s through The Arias Journal or our podcast, my goal has always been to create something thoughtful, authentic, and lasting.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think that’s part of what makes the journey meaningful. When I first started The Arias Journal, there was no roadmap. I was learning everything on my own: how to build an audience, manage a publication, and stay consistent even when growth felt slow.

There were moments when I questioned whether people were actually reading or listening, and times when balancing creativity with logistics felt overwhelming. But those challenges pushed me to become more disciplined and intentional about the kind of work I wanted to create.

Looking back, every setback, whether it was a slow publishing month, burnout, or figuring out how to turn ideas into sustainable projects, taught me something about resilience. The key has always been staying focused on the mission: telling stories that matter and building something that lasts.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
A big part of my work involves interviewing entrepreneurs, creators, and professionals who are shaping their industries in quiet but impactful ways. I’ve also gained a lot of experience through my time in the media industry, which helped me refine my editorial voice and understand what readers connect with most.

What I’m most proud of is how The Arias Journal has grown from a small idea into a trusted platform with a loyal community. We’ve built something that values depth, honesty, and quality over speed, something that’s rare in today’s media landscape.

What sets my work apart is the tone and intention behind it. I try to approach every story or interview with genuine curiosity rather than an agenda. Whether it’s through our written pieces or the podcast, my goal is to make people feel like they’re part of a real conversation, not just reading another headline.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was a mix of both outgoing and introspective. I loved being around people and could talk for hours, but I also valued time alone to think, draw, or write. Writing was always something that came naturally to me. I’d take any extra credit opportunity that involved writing. My teachers would often compliment my work,

I think my friends would probably have described me as talkative, curious, and a bit of a perfectionist when it came to anything creative. Looking back, those traits ended up shaping the way I tell stories today; blending curiosity, creativity, and connection.
