Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Jones.
Hi Joshua, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hello, my name is Joshua Jones, better known as Don POV. I’m a videographer, creative director, and storyteller. I founded Don POV in 2024 with the goal of creating visuals that leave a lasting impact and tell stories people connect with.
My journey began at my alma mater, Prairie View A&M University, where I captured everything from Homecoming and Spring Fest to campaigns, commercials, and hype videos. As my work gained traction and went viral on Instagram, the support from the Prairie View community gave me the confidence and platform to grow my brand.
In 2025, I expanded to Houston, where I built connections and had the opportunity to personally work with notable figures in the city like Saynt Chris, Kirko Bangz and DJ Mr. Rogers. I am forever grateful for the chance they gave me as a rising creator. After graduating, I returned to the East Coast to rebrand and refine my creative vision, focusing more on production work, documentary style content, concert films, and brand activation content.
Since then, I’ve been blessed to collaborate with brands, concerts, talent and athletes including Nike, Under Armour, Purple Brand, Airmax, Flight Club, Footlocker, Druski, Don Toliver, Lil Yachty, 42 Dugg, Monaleo, Colts’ RB Doo Bentley IV, DJ Holizae, FRNDS, IAMLACED, Recess, Mania Studios and Rough Draft. while also expanding my work into New York and the DMV area. Along the journey I been blessed to also collaborate with great directors and visionaries in the industry such as Carters’ Vision, Love4Rico, CassidyBoi, Brandon Aning, Marc Warr and Mare Frames.
The God’s continued favor, groundwork and perseverance has allowed me to establish connections and open many doors along the way and many more to come. I’m excited to continue growing Don POV, telling meaningful stories to the world and pushing creative boundaries.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road hasn’t been entirely smooth, it’s been an adjustment from the very beginning but God orders my steps. I started from the ground up, learning how to persevere through denial, often choosing growth and opportunity over immediate financial gain. There were countless late nights and long drives from Houston back to PVAMU, balancing the demands of being a computer engineering major while staying committed to creating visuals that leave lasting memories.
Along the way, I had to navigate moments of doubt—times of being stuck in my own head, questioning whether I could keep going, and even feeling like giving up. But I always came back to the same truth: this calling wasn’t random. It was something bigger, something I believe was placed on my life. Prayer and persistence became part of my routine, helping me push through when motivation wasn’t enough.
I stayed focused on the main goal: telling untold stories and creating work that matters. Not every door stayed open. Some friendships and past relationships faded as I grew, but even that became part of the journey. There were ups and downs that could have discouraged me, but instead of shying away, I learned to embrace them.
I’ve been overlooked in many spaces, but I’ve never let that define me. My POV is one of one, and that’s something that can’t be taken away.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a visionary and creative storyteller known for capturing moments in a way that feels immersive and emotionally present—like you’re right there in the frame. That’s the foundation of Don POV, which represents exactly what I do: showing the world how I see it through my perspective. My POV isn’t just different visually, it’s intentional in how it makes people feel.
My work blends fast-paced, high-energy videography with the emotional depth of cinematic storytelling. From the shot selection and angles to the pacing, transitions, and sound design, I build each piece to evoke feeling—whether that’s nostalgia, excitement, or reflection. I focus on creating visuals that don’t just document moments, but transform them into experiences.
What sets me apart is my commitment to evolving without losing my identity. I’m known for pushing creative risks, challenging myself with every project, and refusing to become complacent. I treat every opportunity as if it’s my last, which keeps my work intentional, sharp, and meaningful. That mindset has helped me stay consistent in my style while continuously growing as a creator.
What I’m most proud of is my determination and ability to adapt, especially in the face of obstacles. I’ve learned to pivot when needed, stay grounded in my craft, and still hold onto my creative vision no matter the circumstances. That balance of discipline and creativity is what continues to define my work.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is the time my Dad took me to see the New York Knicks play at Madison Square Garden for my 11th birthday. I’ve been a Knicks fan since birth, so being there in person and sharing that moment with him made it feel unreal. It wasn’t just my first NBA game, it was something I’ll never forget, being in a place I had only ever seen on TV, surrounded by something I had always loved.
What makes it even more special is how life came full circle. About 15 years later, I found myself back in Madison Square Garden but this time on the other side of the lens, shooting a Don Toliver concert. Standing in the same arena where that childhood memory started, now creating visuals and telling stories of my own, made me realize how far I’ve come. It tied everything together in a way that felt like growth, purpose, and reflection all at once.
