Daily Inspiration: Meet Just Ill

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Just Ill again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Just, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
Salutations everyone! My name is Just ill and I’m the Creative Director of ill&Co, and owner of ill&Co xix clothing Co. At my core I’ve always been a dreamer, but my brand is about utilizing those ideas and creative energy to bring dreams to life.

My companies motto is “Always Hungry Never Thirsty”. I started simply as an artist, but I have since expanded to digital designs, logos, custom accessories, and started my own clothing line. My brand is very closely tied to my life and the ones who have similar ambitions of finding the colors in a very black and white world. I’ve faced adversity, and overcame depression, but I learned from that pain and converted it into beautiful works of art.

Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
Whew! Many events have transpired since my last interview. I narrowly avoided Hurricane Harvey in 2017, just to be smashed by Hurricane Laura in 2020 in the middle of a pandemic. My business was primarily point sale before the global pandemic and forthcoming quarantine. This caused many setbacks but it forced me to master e-commerce and start my website illandco.com. Everything happens for a reason. Staying hungry, I’ve rolled with the punches and put my up and downs in my art. I’ve put out two art collections “K.I.N.G” (Kill Inner Nice Guy) and “Letters From Rehab”, and I’m currently working on “The Villain Arc” which will be my most ambitious and risqué collection yet.

We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?
