Today we’d like to introduce you to Kareem Amado
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As a trailblazer, thought leader, and visionary, I’ve lived a life that’s been nothing short of extraordinary. With a wealth of skills and experiences under my belt, I’ve had the privilege of working with various institutions and companies, which has given me a unique perspective on life.
From my humble beginnings in New York, where I attended Nyack College and interned at Reciprocity Foundation, Coalition for the Homeless, and Interscope Records, I knew that I was destined for greatness. These formative experiences not only honed my skills but also instilled in me a sense of purpose and responsibility that has driven me to make a difference in the world.
My entrepreneurial spirit led me to co-found “Rhythm Addict TV,” a media company and YouTube channel that celebrated the world of dance. Through this venture, I had the opportunity to film dance showcases, competitions, and classes, as well as conduct interviews with top industry choreographers and dancers. This exposure opened doors to starring in films, commercials, touring overseas, and appearing in magazines and music videos. The most thrilling aspect of my career is the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and learn from their unique perspectives. I’m passionate about the creative process, taking an idea from conception to reality, and watching it inspire others – it’s incredibly fulfilling.
Beyond my business ventures, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with various community-based organizations, non-profits, small businesses, hotel franchises, retail organizations, record companies, and dance studios. My passion for helping others and building stronger communities has driven me to work with organizations that share my vision of creating positive change.
My contributions to the community have been recognized in several publications, including Village Voice Magazine, Time Out Magazine, Voyage, Entertainment Post, R. Legacy Magazine, and NBC.com, for my work with The Coalition for the Homeless in supporting homeless youth. These recognitions have been a humbling reminder of the impact I’m making, and they’ve only fueled my desire to continue driving positive change.
Throughout my working years, I’ve developed a diverse range of skills, including youth mentoring, supervising, fashion merchandising, customer service, sales, dance instruction, brand ambassadorship, media correspondence, hospitality, entertainment promotion, photography, branding strategy, and social media strategy. These skills have empowered me to take on new challenges and pursue innovative projects.
Currently, I’m exploring exciting new ventures in the world of tech, where I see immense potential for innovation and disruption. I’m eager to collaborate with fellow entrepreneurs who share my passion for innovation, creativity, and community building. I believe that together, we can achieve remarkable things and make a lasting impact on the world.
Whether it’s through creating content that inspires, developing products that solve real-world problems, or simply being a positive force in my community, I’m committed to leaving a legacy that will outlast me. My ultimate goal is to create a movement that will inspire others to chase their dreams, take risks, and never settle for mediocrity. I want to empower people to be the change they wish to see in the world and to know that they, too, can live an extraordinary life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. To be honest, the journey has been a rollercoaster ride with its fair share of twists and turns. There have been moments of pure elation, followed by periods of crippling self-doubt and uncertainty. I remember one particular instance where I was so close to giving up, feeling like I was stuck in a rut with no way out. The pressure to constantly produce innovative content, the fear of not meeting expectations, and the anxiety of staying relevant in a rapidly changing industry almost got the better of me.
But then, something inside of me clicked. I took a step back, reassessed my priorities, and refocused on what truly mattered – the passion that drove me to start this journey in the first place. I began to surround myself with people who believed in me, who pushed me to be my best self, and who encouraged me to take risks. I learned to celebrate my victories, no matter how small they may seem, and to not be too hard on myself when things didn’t go according to plan.
Looking back, those struggles were a blessing in disguise. They forced me to grow, to adapt, and to evolve as a person and as a professional. They taught me the importance of resilience, of perseverance, and of staying true to myself, even when the going gets tough. So, while the road hasn’t been smooth, I wouldn’t change a thing. The struggles have made me who I am today, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a entrepreneur and creative artist, I specialize in modeling, acting, dancing, content creating, spoken word and ministry. I’m most proud of my ability to use my platform to inspire and uplift others. I’ve had the privilege of performing at numerous events, creating content that sparks meaningful conversations, and collaborating with like-minded individuals who share my passion for making a positive impact.
What sets me apart, I believe, is my unique blend of creativity, business acumen, and spiritual foundation. As a multi-faceted artist, I’ve honed my skills in various areas, but it’s my commitment to using my talents to spread love, hope, and empowerment that truly defines me.
I’m known for my energetic and engaging performances, whether it’s on stage, screen, or through my online content. My spoken word pieces, in particular, have resonated with many, as I often tackle tough topics with vulnerability and authenticity. My ministry work has also allowed me to connect with people from all walks of life, sharing messages of faith, resilience, and purpose.
Ultimately, I’m proud to be a beacon of light in the entertainment industry, using my gifts to shine a light on the importance of self-love, self-care, and community building. I’m humbled by the opportunity to make a difference, one creative expression at a time.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Don’t get into the business looking for fame or validation from others. Get into the business for the love of the craft, the thrill of creation, and the sense of fulfillment that comes from bringing your unique vision to life. Get into the business because you have a burning passion that cannot be ignored, a message that needs to be shared, or a story that must be told. and be prepared to put in the work. There’s no shortcut to mastery, and the only way to hone your craft is to keep creating, experimenting, and pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone. Don’t be discouraged by setbacks, rejections, or criticism – they’re an inevitable part of the journey. Instead, focus on building a strong foundation, staying true to your artistic voice, and continually seeking out opportunities to learn and grow.
Also, don’t be afraid to take risks and try new things. The most interesting and innovative work often comes from stepping into the unknown, embracing uncertainty, and being open to surprise. Remember that failure is not the opposite of success, but a crucial stepping stone on the path to achieving your goals.
Lastly, cultivate a sense of community and collaboration. Surround yourself with like-minded creatives who inspire, support, and challenge you. Learn from their experiences, share your own, and celebrate each other’s triumphs. In the end, it’s not about competing with others, but about lifting each other up and creating something truly remarkable together.
