Daily Inspiration: Meet Kevin Thibodeaux

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Thibodeaux.

Hi Kevin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Starting out as a business change consultant and entrepreneur, my focus was solely on building my career and financial stability. For a large portion of my professional life, I was fully immersed in the corporate world and didn’t give much thought to dating and relationships until my early thirties. Like many, I believed that I needed to establish financial stability and career success before finding a life partner. However, I soon realized that I had much to learn and needed growth in other areas, such as communication, emotional maturity, conflict resolution, and love.

I came to the realization that I was not ready for a committed relationship and needed to work on myself before expecting different results in my dating life. With the help of my coaches, therapists, friends, mentors, and family, I embarked on a journey of personal growth and committed to developing myself in the same way I had in my business and professional career.

Today, as a coach, I am living my dream and supporting amazing individuals in envisioning their ideal futures, discovering their true selves, and identifying what is most meaningful to them. Through the Date Smarter process of discovery, awareness, and choice, my clients are empowered to create and live more fulfilling lives.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There were several challenges along the way when I started my journey toward becoming a dating and relationship coach.

Financial Challenge – Generating a stable income was financially challenging when first becoming a dating coach.

Time Management Challenge– Balancing my previous work, personal life, and pursuing a new coaching business was a bit overwhelming and required prioritization and sacrifice.

Personal Growth Challenge: Continuing to grow as a human being and confronting my own fears was required for coaching mastery.

Self-Doubt Challenge: Believing in myself and my abilities as a dating and relationship coach was tough in the beginning.  Now, I trust myself and my clients, together as a team, along with the process.

Comfort Zone Challenge: Doing social media and marketing required me to step out of my comfort zone. I had never done social media reel, lives, or webinars, but now feel confident and comfortable when creating social media for my business.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a coach, I partner with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their potential. It is client-driven and focuses on setting goals, creating outcomes, and managing personal change.

My role as a coach:

Discover, clarify, and align with what the client wants to achieve
Encourage client self-discovery
Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies
Hold the client responsible and accountable

My Date Smarter methodology sets me apart from the competition. Date Smarter is chiefly about discovery, awareness, and choice. It is a way of effectively empowering clients to find their own answers; encouraging and supporting them on the path as they continue to make important choices.

Another distinguishing benefit is that I’m a coach that is also actively dating  So, I have a first-hand look at the technologies and challenges.  This gives me valuable insight that allows me to relate to my clients within this constantly evolving dating environment.

What do you think about luck?
Luck has played a significant role in my life and business from the aspects of timing and unexpected events.

In my personal life, once I was engaged to be married and I was lucky to do pre-marital classes. Those classes helped me to grow as a human being, as a man, and as a future partner.  Hence, the embarkment of self-discovery and an emotional development journey.

Luck also played a part in my business as I had colleagues and friends that encouraged me to become a coach, even when I doubted the possibility at that time in my life. It was also great timing when I signed up for coaching classes because I was in the midst of my latest transformation.  Those classes taught me to dig deeper than I thought was possible.
