Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristie Jacobs Staples Franks.
Hi Kristie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When i was 12 years old my aunt marla gave me a 1980s Kodak disc camera for Christmas and after that I always had a camera around my neck taking pics of any and everything!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not too many struggles having my foot in the door with knowing lots of local music and a friend with a small little hippie sound company that made me have lots of fun with local events and meeting so many local talents and friends! Like Carolyn Wonderland and The Hightailers!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am known for always having a camera and getting the perfect shot! I am proud I have won several awards for photos and won a few small contests and also sold some of my work which makes me really super proud! Working for local magazines and bands has been my most cherished accomplishment!
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Never give up! No matter what people may say or judge you! It’s your dream not theirs! Especially never give up right when you’re at your goal!!!
