Daily Inspiration: Meet Kristin Ikerd

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Ikerd

Hi Kristin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My interest in tarot and being an eclectic practitioner was sparked by something I’ve known for decades—both knowingly and unknowingly—that everything in life is seamlessly connected. From a young age, I felt that things were working together in ways I couldn’t quite articulate, but I knew there was more to life and the world than what met the eye. Many of us grow up with traditions or rituals rooted in spiritual practices, but over time, those meanings get lost in translation. Something as simple as having “Happy Birthday” sung to you is, in essence, a spell of aging. That awareness opened my eyes to the magic woven into everyday life.

Though I’d been practicing for decades, my practice wasn’t public until 2020, a year that changed everyone’s lives. I had just been fired from my job, was waitlisted for school as they prioritized on-campus students over online learners, and I found myself stuck—either overqualified or underqualified for every job I applied for. When my sister passed away, it shifted my perception of life in profound and indescribable ways. That’s when I made it my mission to focus on emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual health—not just for myself and my family, but for anyone in need.

That was the turning point. I realized my practices had the power to change lives. So, I started growing my social media platforms and sharing what I had learned. There’s a fine line between giving up and surrendering. After countless hours of posting with no clients, no views, no clicks, and no likes—I surrendered. I handed it all over to the universe, and that’s when everything shifted. I was prepared to wake up and start the job search again.

The next morning, I woke up to over 100,000 notifications on my phone. I thought it was just another Apple glitch, but it wasn’t—I had my first viral video. A lot has happened between then and now, but here I am with over 560,000 followers and subscribers, changing their lives every day as they have changed mine.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A smooth road? Hell no! I’ve never wanted anything that came to me easy. This path has been bumpy as f—heck! Every challenge, every struggle has been a lesson, and I’m grateful for all of them. Running and growing your own business can be incredibly humbling, and you quickly realize that success isn’t just about the magic or the content—it’s about resilience, patience, and showing up even when no one else does.

In the early days, I poured my heart and soul into my work, but there were countless moments of doubt. I’d spend hours creating content that got no views, no clicks, and no clients. It was frustrating and exhausting. And then, when things finally started to take off, I faced new challenges—like figuring out how to manage a business that grew faster than I could keep up with. Navigating the balance between my personal practice and running a full-time business hasn’t been easy, and sometimes I’ve had to seek constant reassurance—either from myself, my guides, or my community—that I was on the right path.

But here’s the thing: those bumps along the way? They smoothed out, and just like a stone being polished, all that friction and those challenges are what made me shine. Without friction, without struggle, we can’t grow, evolve, or become our best selves. So, while it’s never been easy, those rough spots are what have shaped my business and myself into what we are today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in tarot—that’s what I’m mainly known for. But my practice doesn’t stop there. I’m also well-versed in astrology, numerology, herbalism, crystal energy, candle work, and a whole lot more. But hey, we can’t show all our cards, right?

What I’m most proud of is that, through my practice, I can show up authentically as myself every single day without compromise. In my past careers, I had to tone down who I was—whether it was covering my tattoos, taking out piercings, or changing my hair to be more “presentable” (aka not purple). Now? I get to flip the middle finger to all the people who told me I’d never get anywhere because of my hand tattoos. LMFAO—joke’s on them, I run my own business now!

What sets me apart from others is that I’m a no-nonsense kind of reader. I curse a lot, I drink some, I burn a few things, and I tell you exactly like it is. My slogan says it all: “I don’t tell you what you want to hear, I tell you what you need to hear.” And honestly, it’s been hard trying not to curse while answering these questions! I mean, my name is Witch Bitch Tarot after all. I’m here to break down the bullsh*t, keep it real, and bring you the truth with some humor, a little sass, maybe a needed cry, and a lot of magic.

What makes you happy?
What makes me happy? Being unapologetically myself. There’s nothing more liberating than waking up every day and living life on my own terms. I love that I’ve built a business where I can show up as the real me without having to change a damn thing to fit someone else’s mold. Caring for my family and creating a home filled with love and peace brings me immense joy. As a proud childless cat lady with an additional dog, my familiars add a unique charm to my life.

Helping others find their own power is another thing that fills me with joy. When a client has that aha moment during a reading or feels more aligned in their life because of something I’ve said or done—that’s pure magic for me. Seeing people evolve, heal, and thrive through my practice makes everything worth it.

And let’s not forget about the delightful fact that many people are still a bit spooked out by witches and tarot. I love breaking down those stereotypes and showing that there’s nothing to fear. It’s all about empowerment, healing, and connection with the universe. Connecting with the energy around me and using it to make real, meaningful changes in people’s lives (including my own) is what lights me up. That—and a little bit of chaos. I thrive in it.
