Daily Inspiration: Meet Laneicia Palmer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laneicia Palmer.

Hi Laneicia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a California native born and raised and I moved to Houston in July of 2021 hair has always been my passion I didn’t necessarily think I had the resources to pursue my passion because I was hell bent on getting out of Compton/ Los Angeles. I went to college in Missouri I began bookkeeping and even became in insurance agent for USAA and my dreams became more of my side hustle. I met the love of my life in 2018 and in 2021 we married and decided to buy our first home moving from Las Vegas to Houston I was determine with all these big changes I was going to go big or go home ! I graduated from Paul Mitchell cosmetology I had a salon suite in my home and after 3 years of building relationships with my clients I was able to get my own space and open my salon Luxe Beauty on 5th Ave !

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has almost certainly not been a smooth road there are always struggles complications and loops getting to were you truly want to be but wouldn’t have it any other way. Self doubt, contractor work, bringing it all together and even my faith sometimes in what I could do ! But my Lord and savior family continued to push me and remind me who I’m doing it for !

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an artist I love my craft and I give my all in my work ! Washing hair is the beginning the smiles are what I live for the conversations and connections make it all worth it! So styling someone’s hair is a big part but it’s not the whole canvas! What I think sets me apart is I can do quite a bit I love working with different textures and lengths ethnicities and more I don’t just stick to one corner . So color braids natural hair extensions I truly excel in it all

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My credit goes to my lord and savior first and then my family my dad mom husband and even kids man they all were my lifelines, my favorite phone a friend my sister in Christ Dayllonie could call any day any time !
