Daily Inspiration: Meet Liz Crosswell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Crosswell.

Liz Crosswell

Hi Liz, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my business in 2009. I’m an entrepreneur at heart and have started a few companies. I was in between companies and a stay-at-home mom. One day I just sent out an email to all of my friends and said, “I’m an organizer now; hire me!” So, I started to grow my business, little by little. I started bringing on organizers to help me because my jobs were getting larger and larger. We’ve come a long way since then. About 7 years ago, I brought on a partner, Tammy Hiskey. We now have about 14 people in our company. We are also move managers, so we coordinate full turnkey moves. We have several teams out in the Houston area every week doing large and small jobs.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, there are always fires to put out, but it’s been pretty smooth. We grew very organically so it’s been a natural progression to slowly add people.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love my team! They are amazing women who are all very talented in their own right. They all come from different education backgrounds and careers. When we are looking to hire, we don’t want someone who has organizing experience, per se. We are looking for people who are professional, polished, empathetic, and friendly. We go into people’s homes and personal lives. Our clients are very vulnerable, showing us areas of their lives they are often very uncomfortable about.

Any big plans?
I would like to just continue our growth here in the Houston area. Eventually, I would like to expand to Austin or Dallas.
