Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Angela Quinones.
Hi Maria Angela, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It happened on a Christmas morning, I got out of bed and began to write. It wasn’t something I had planned or even dreamed of doing, but I was the Holy Spirit guiding me through the entire story.
I waited two years before even considering publishing it. But I’ve come to understand that God has a perfect time for everything in our lives, and nothing happens unless it is within His divine and sovereign will.
The Christmas story is titled The Star That Changed a Boy’s Life. It captures the unique feeling many of us experience during the Christmas season and highlights the often-overlooked power of love that shines especially bright during this time of year.
For some, Christmas is just another holiday. It comes and goes without leaving a trace of joy, or the hope that is found in Jesus. Instead, it’s blurred by distractions that confuse us and pull us away from the real miracle of Christmas:
A Savior who paid for our sins and opened the gates of heaven to all who are willing to step forward and receive His love.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Obstacles, challenges and Divine Timing:
Some of the delays in publishing this story were simply due to time. As I’ve mentioned before, God has a perfect time for everything in our lives. Sometimes we must wait on His divine and perfect timing, even when we don’t fully understand the reasons.
Another challenge was ourselves, our own doubts, and uncertainties. It’s easy to question what we’re doing or whether we’re capable, but instead of focusing on those concerns, we’re called to focus on what God is asking us to do. Trusting Him through the process makes all the difference.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Teaching and Growth:
Working as a school teacher has deeply impacted my life. It challenges me every day to inspire, encourage, engage, and motivate, not only my students, but also myself. I’ve come to believe that in the classroom, teachers aren’t just teaching, we’re all learning. Every day brings new lessons, not just in academics, but in patience, empathy, and growth. It’s a journey of mutual transformation.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The Gift of Work and Purpose:
King Solomon, known as the wisest man to ever live, wrote in the book of Ecclesiastes that true satisfaction comes from the work we do because it is a gift from God. In Ecclesiastes 2:24, he says, “A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God.”
This verse reminds me that the work we do, whether teaching, writing, or serving in any capacity holds deep meaning when we recognize it as part of God’s purpose. It’s not just about completing tasks, but about finding joy and fulfillment in doing what He has called us to do.
