Today we’d like to introduce you to Money Making Sace.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I first started rapping my senior year of High School. I was no longer playing sports so I needed something that could keep me occupied. At first, it was just a thought, but I eventually realized I might have a talent in writing. It seems like it was such a long time ago, but it has only been five years. I still remember Mrs. Crockett telling me that I had a gift in writing, and I remember telling Marcus Sims and Tyriq Reddix that I was going to be a rapper; we were in forensic science class. I now own Loose Screw Mafia Records, and I haven’t looked back since. It’s crazy what can happen when you just take a risk.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’m still on the road, and I personally think I’m nowhere near the destination. Over the years, I’ve learned that this is not going to be an easy journey. Obstacles are inevitable. One thing that I’ve learned and that I’m still learning is that everything occurs for a reason. People come and go. Frustration will happen. Some days I will not want to make music, family issues, etc., all of this is a part of the plan. Believe it or not, some of my best work happens when life is hitting me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Well, first and foremost, I’m the creator of Loose Screw Mafia. Loose Screw is everything to me. It is my heart. Growing up, I always seemed to do things differently from everyone; it was something I noticed in elementary school. When you get called weird, different, annoying and crazy frequently, you start to accept it. I was just myself. It’s not like I was hurting anyone. As I got older, I started to hide my individuality. I basically wanted to fit in. But when I became around 14-15, I noticed that fitting in is lame; there’s nothing cool about it. I started to remain my self and I realized I’m just a “Loose Screw.” As far as “Mafia,” I’m a huge fan of mafia movies. The Godfather, Goodfellas, The Irishmen, and The Sopranos are my favorites. I love how family-oriented they are.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Family, I think about younger siblings and cousins daily. I feel like if they see me chasing my dreams, they’ll do the same. Money, cars, and women is cool, but that can all be replaced in a second. My family will always be here, no matter what. My music definitely matters to me as well. I listen to Curtis Mayfield like it’s 1974, and I want some else to say the same about me when it is 2074. Longevity is key to me. I’m not worried about the little waves that are going on right now originally will always rule.
