Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Williams
Hi Natasha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey started in 1990 when I enlisted into the Texas National Guard. I had a strong sense of duty and wanted to serve my county. I started in a variety of roles that taught me discipline, leadership, and resilience. Throughout those years I gained experience in different areas, including logistics and operations and got the opportunity to travel. Meet people from all walks of life, and grow as a person. After retiring from the Army in 2019. I found myself exploring new opportunities. I was always passionate about beauty and self care which led to me becoming a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. This allowed me to tap into my entrepreneurial side? Helping others feel good about themselves and build meaningful relationships with clients . Along the way? I also became a Paparazzi Consultant, which aligned with my love for accessories and offering affordable jewelry that helps people express themselves. Now, I’m focused on building my business, helping others achieve their goals, and living life with a sense of purpose and fulfillment after my military career . It’s been both a rewarding and unexpected transition.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the military, obstacles and challenges come in many forms.. For me one of the biggest challenges was balancing the demands of military life with family life . The constant deployments, training exercises. And long hours made it difficult to maintain strong personal connections, especially during those early years . Another challenge was dealing with the mental and emotional strain that comes with being away from home for long periods of time. You learn to adopt but it’s not easy being separated from loved ones especially when you’re in a high- stress environment like combat zones . The mental toughness you develop over time is essential. Being an entrepreneur in a new city comes with its own set of unique challenges and obstacles. . When I first started one of the biggest challenges hurdles was building a network from scratch in the military your used to a built in community but as an entrepreneur you have to actively seek out connections whether that’s finding clients, mentors or like minded individuals who can help guide you through the business landscape . Another challenge was learning the local market and how it operates . Every city has its own culture , preferences and needs and understanding those nuances is crucial.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m most proud of the ability to Empower and Uplift others . It’s not just about selling products, it’s about helping people feel more confident in their skin and teaching how to care of themselves .
Attending different functions whether through networking events , conferences or community gatherings sets me apart as an entrepreneur. This provides me the opportunity to to connect with people face to face and built relationships and trust that can’t always be built online .
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’m a member of the Missouri City Small Business Advisory Board Committee
