Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicoletta Favaloro.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
started this journey out of necessity when my own dog faced serious health challenges and I couldn’t find pet food I truly trusted. I began making my own, focusing on real ingredients, transparency, and quality. What started in my kitchen quickly grew through word of mouth, local markets, and community support.
Today, I run a fully licensed Texas-based pet food brand, producing at scale while staying true to the standards that started it all: honest sourcing, thoughtful preparation, and genuine care for animals. Every step of this business has been built hands-on, with intention and heart.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Building a regulated, licensed food business from the ground up came with steep learning curves, especially around compliance, sourcing, and scaling production without sacrificing quality. Managing costs, time, and growth while doing most things hands-on was challenging, and there were moments of doubt along the way.
That said, every obstacle forced me to become more disciplined, resourceful, and confident in my decisions. Those challenges didn’t slow the vision—they strengthened it and shaped the business into what it is today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in creating high-quality, responsibly sourced pet food with a strong focus on transparency, nutrition, and ethical production. My work spans every part of the process—from sourcing Texas-raised ingredients to hands-on production, packaging, compliance, and direct-to-consumer sales. I’m known for being deeply involved in my business and uncompromising when it comes to quality.
What I’m most proud of is building a licensed, scalable brand without losing the care and intention behind each product. What sets me apart is that I don’t follow trends—I build based on real needs, lived experience, and trust. Every decision is rooted in doing right by the animals and the community I serve.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I rely more on hands-on learning and real-world experience than any single book or podcast, but a few tools help keep me grounded and focused. I use simple organizational apps and notes to manage production, ideas, and scheduling, and I’m constantly learning through conversations with other small business owners, farmers, and customers.
I also draw inspiration from stories of entrepreneurs who built something meaningful from the ground up. Staying connected to my community and paying attention to what’s actually working in real life has been my most valuable resource.
