Today we’d like to introduce you to Prince Archie.
Hi Prince, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up in Houston, Texas, music was my earliest passion. At just five years old, I found myself drawn to the rhythm of drums, pounding away with fervor and experimenting with freestyle rhymes on the karaoke machines.
As I matured, so did my love for music. Joining the school band ignited a fire within me for beats and melodies. Crafting my own lyrics became my outlet for expression, and by the time I graduated from Aldine High School, I was already making waves in the local music scene.
My journey took a significant turn when I entered Prairie View A&M University. It was there that I crossed paths with DJ Chose, a moment that would alter the course of my musical career. Collaborating with artists like Yella Beezy and Lil Ronny Motha F propelled me further into the spotlight, but I soon realized that my true calling lay behind the scenes.
After a few years of performing, I discovered a deep-seated desire to be the creative force shaping the music industry. Transitioning into the world of sync licensing allowed me to combine my passion for music with visual storytelling. Through perseverance and dedication, my tracks found their way into TV shows, commercials, and films, enriching the narratives they accompanied.
Today, I stand as a testament to the power of music to transform lives. From my humble beginnings as a drumbeating, karaoke-singing kid to a respected songwriter and music professional, my journey has been one of evolution and self-discovery. And as I continue to weave melodies that resonate with audiences worldwide,
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely, it’s been anything but a smooth road. The sync licensing world is incredibly challenging. Rejection becomes a constant companion, with countless “no’s” and months of silence from music supervisors or TV companies. One of the toughest lessons to learn is the concept of “submit and forget.” You pour your heart and soul into a piece of music, submit it, and then move on, often never hearing anything back.
The industry demands an unwavering work ethic and relentless consistency. It’s a world where resilience is key, where every setback is an opportunity to refine your craft and push yourself further. Despite the obstacles, though, the rewards are immeasurable. Each success, no matter how small, fuels the passion to keep going, to keep creating, and to keep chasing the dream.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a songwriter and artist, collaboration is at the heart of what I do. I thrive on working with other artists, pooling our talents to achieve a shared vision and create something truly special. My versatility allows me to traverse various genres and styles, ensuring that each project is unique and tailored to its intended audience.
In addition to my work as a songwriter and artist, I specialize in creating music for TV shows and companies. My tracks have been featured in a variety of productions, including popular series like “All American,” “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta,” and branded content for companies like Sprite.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend storytelling with captivating melodies, creating music that resonates deeply with listeners and enhances the visual narratives it accompanies. I take pride in my adaptability and willingness to push creative boundaries, always striving to deliver a fresh perspective and leave a lasting impression.
One of my proudest achievements is the opportunity to contribute to projects that have a significant impact on audiences, whether through compelling television storylines or memorable advertising campaigns.
