Today we’d like to introduce you to Sahar Kohandel
Hi Sahar, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a proud Persian-American, born and raised in Houston, TX. I’ve spent most of my adult life soaking up the vibrant energy of Montrose, but now I’m enjoying the quieter vibes in the suburbs. Before I became an event planner, I spent 11 amazing years as a salon manager at @cutloosetx. My time there taught me so much about hard work, creativity, and connecting with people, and I’ll always be grateful for those lessons. While I loved my job, I always had a passion for event planning. I started doing it on the side-small events here and there-and quickly realized how much joy it brought me. Eventually, I took a leap of faith and followed my dreams. With everything I learned along the way and my love for creating beautiful moments, I started my own event planning business. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting from scratch as an event planner has been an exciting adventure! It can definitely be intimidating at first — you’re stepping into the unknown and leaving behind what you know. But that’s where the magic happens. I came into this journey with a deep sense of excitement and confidence, knowing that this was my dream, and there was no turning back.
The road hasn’t been entirely smooth, but each challenge has been a chance to embrace the fear and turn it into something positive. Instead of letting obstacles hold me back, I’ve tackled them head-on, knowing that growth and success lie just beyond those moments of discomfort. Every hurdle has pushed me to become stronger, more creative, and even more passionate about what I do. Embracing the fear has been essential — it’s been a constant reminder that the most rewarding moments often come when you step outside your comfort zone.

I specialize in creating unforgettable events that are as unique as you are! Whether it’s a dreamy wedding, a fun-themed party, a corporate gathering, or anything in between, I love making sure every detail reflects your style and personality.
I’m local, but I’m always up for traveling for the right project. I have my own signature style, but I’m super adaptable to whatever vibe you’re going for. From elegant, timeless weddings to something a little more offbeat — like a goth rustic wedding (yes, that’s totally my thing!) — I’ve got it covered. I’m also known for throwing some pretty amazing Halloween parties, which are always a blast! Creating bold, fun, and memorable atmospheres is what I do best.
One of the things I’m most proud of is my ability to connect my clients with the perfect vendors, venues, and entertainment to match their vision. Whether it’s helping you find the dream venue or curating a team of DJs and vendors who totally vibe with your style, I make sure everything falls into place smoothly.
What really sets me apart is my passion for making every event fresh, personal, and exciting. I focus on the little things to ensure that the vibe is just right and that everything runs seamlessly from start to finish.
