Today we’d like to introduce you to Savannah Smith.
Hi Savannah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m one of the leaders behind The Woodlands Women’s Collective, a community built to help women feel more connected, supported, and less alone in adulthood. What started as a desire for genuine friendship and community has grown into something much bigger than we ever imagined, bringing together thousands of women across The Woodlands and surrounding areas through social events, networking opportunities, and intentional experiences.
Along the way, I’ve worn a lot of hats and learned so much about building community, creating experiences people truly connect with, and balancing the behind-the-scenes operations that keep everything moving. Today, I serve as COO of The Woodlands Women’s Collective, where I help lead event planning, partnerships, member experiences, and the day-to-day growth of the organization.
What means the most to me is creating spaces where women can show up exactly as they are, whether they’re looking for friendships, business connections, support, or simply a place to belong. Watching strangers walk into an event alone and leave with genuine connections has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Building a community sounds fun on the outside, but there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes that people don’t always see. One of the biggest challenges has been balancing rapid growth while still keeping the community intentional and personal. As we’ve grown, we’ve had to learn how to create structure, set boundaries, delegate responsibilities, and make sure the heart behind what we do never gets lost.
At the same time, every challenge has taught me something valuable. I’ve learned how important communication, adaptability, and community support really are. Those experiences have shaped me not only as a leader, but also as a person.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I currently serve as the COO of The Woodlands Women’s Collective, where I help oversee operations, partnerships, events, member experiences, and overall community growth. Before stepping into this role, I worked in risk management, which gave me a strong foundation in organization, problem-solving, communication, and managing complex moving pieces under pressure. That background has shaped the way I approach leadership and operations today, especially when it comes to planning, logistics, and creating systems that allow experiences and events to run smoothly.
A lot of my work now centers around creating experiences that help women feel genuinely connected, welcomed, and supported, whether that’s through large-scale social events, networking opportunities, workshops, or community partnerships with local businesses.
I’d say I specialize most in community building and creating experiences that feel intentional, approachable, and memorable. I’m very detail-oriented and naturally gravitate toward the behind-the-scenes logistics that help bring big ideas to life. From event execution and vendor coordination to partnerships and member communication, I love taking ideas and turning them into something people can actually experience and connect through.
What I’m most proud of is helping build a community that has had a real impact on people’s lives. Seeing friendships form, businesses collaborate, women gain confidence, or hearing someone say they finally feel like they’ve found their people is incredibly meaningful to me. That’s always been the bigger purpose behind what we do.
I think what sets me apart is that I truly care about the experience people are having. I pay attention to the little details, the energy of a room, how people feel when they walk into an event, and whether they leave feeling included and connected. I try to lead with warmth, authenticity, and a genuine desire to create spaces where people feel like they belong.
What does success mean to you?
My definition of success has changed a lot over the years, especially after leaving a traditional corporate role. I used to think success was tied mostly to titles, achievements, or checking the next professional box. Now, I see success as building a well-rounded, fulfilling life that I genuinely enjoy living.
To me, success looks like having meaningful relationships, spending quality time with family and friends, creating experiences that bring people together, and building a community where others feel seen, welcomed, and happy. It’s being able to do work that feels purposeful while also having fun and enjoying the life I’m creating along the way.
I think success is about balance. It’s not just about career growth, but about feeling fulfilled personally, emotionally, and creatively too. At the end of the day, the moments I’m most proud of usually aren’t tied to a metric or accomplishment. They’re the moments where I can look around a room and see people connecting, laughing, making memories, and feeling like they belong.
