Today we’d like to introduce you to Sentilion.
Hi Sentilion, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
What started as a dream in high school eventually became reality when Gabriel and I, Danny, decided to form a band that ended up doing terrible on our first attempt to perform in front of a crowd at a school talent show. We then switched gears, got new members, and formed the first Sentilion lineup in 2014. After a long hiatus, Gabriel and I recruited Luiggi as our new frontman and Rie as our drummer. We released our first ever single “Rebirth” in 2024 just before we recruited our new members. After Rie relocated, I moved from guitar to drums, and we began releasing a series of singles from 2025 to 2026, which can be found in our Spotify. We now play shows consistently around the Houston area so catch us at one of our upcoming shows!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There’s definitely been struggles. When Rie relocated to a different state, it was a a challenge to take on a new instrument, but I was able to get it done through practice. Also, blending our different styles and tastes has been a challenge, but it has been a fun one because it enables us to be creative and find new ways to create something we all contribute to.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We take pride in our unique, raw blend of old-school punk with modern-age core elements. Our first single was a huge achievement for us because it was a culmination of us learning how to record, mix, master, and distribute music. In a way, it made our dreams into a reality.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
What has worked best for us is maintaining an online presence and keeping up with other bands and events in the local scene. The best way to meet more people is to genuinely be a fan of those around you. By doing that you will tend to gravitate towards like-minded people and eventually meet those that can be a good mentor.
