Hi Setheeiona, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
As a little girl I’ve always dreamed big. I always thought outside of the box and knew in my heart I was destined for greatness. I knew it was bigger than me. Surviving everything I did growing up, made me grow up fast. I’ve always been told I had an “old soul”. I didn’t fit in with alot of other kids because I was so mature for my age and already thinking of ways to break generational curses. The desire for greatness that I felt so fiercely burned in me every single day. I knew I always wanted to be a business woman and also influence others in this life so I started taking steps towards that more and more. While people doubted me, I was plotting on how to silence them and dead their insecurities they often pushed on me. People tried to scare me away from all of my great ideas because they simply couldn’t do it themselves or they feared maybe I’ll get it right and be better than them. I defeated everyone who spoke ill against me and still to this day continue to do this. I started my journey selling custom tshirts, went to being a traveling makeup artist, making YouTube videos and slowly getting comfortable with social media to becoming an influencer, content creator, corporate baddie, social justice advocate, community outreach coordinator, and business owner all in one. I used to listen to Beyoncé’s “I Was Here” song and cry because all I want to do is leave my footprint on this earth by promoting confidence, beauty, hustle, style, and God’s love. Every day I take a step towards my goals and then dream a little bigger. I AM THE ONE who will bring generational wealth and happiness to my family. I’m the chosen one.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was never a smooth journey. I’ve witnessed homelessness many times in my life, betrayal from the people closest to me more times than I can count, death of one of my absolute favorite people in this world, being broke, my car being repossessed, health scares, having to move back in with my mom at one point, dad being absent in my life/going to jail/getting out/still not being present, and one tragedy after another.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Professionally I specialize in business administration, career development, workforce services, and office management. I’m most proud of my work as a career development specialist because I was able to help so many people provide for themselves and their families, learn new skills, and present themselves in a better light. What sets me apart from others is my huge heart to serve, motivate, and inspire others in any way I can.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I like Houston because there’s so many connections and opportunities to take advantage of. I’m not a big fan of the traffic in Houston.
