Today we’d like to introduce you to Taty H.
Hi Taty, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have a background in fashion design and modeling, and I have been a midlife fashion, beauty and lifestyle content creator for five years.
My Instagram handle is Tatysfavs “Taty” for my name and “favs” because I share my favorite products.
These five years have been like a long road where I collected experiences along the way. These experiences have made me proud of the things I learned and what have been able to achieve.
Through the years that I worked as a designer, I was able to develop a keen eye for detail and aesthetic layouts. I also took photography and modeling classes a while back, participated on a tv program and commercials. All what I learned in the past are valuable instruments that I apply now in the videos and photos that I share on social media. I film and edit visually appealing videos for products, craft engaging content for an audience and use the power of storytelling.
I am a very creative individual and I am always thinking about what I am going to be creating next. My mind never stops and I also love learning new things to spand my knowledge and personal growth!
I have also been able to discover my potential as someone who can have a positive impact in another person’s day, through the power of content creation. I enjoy sharing what I am passionate about which provides value and connects with my audience.
My original goal in my beginnings as a content creator was to inspire other midlife women to feel confident and attractive no matter what’s their age. Little did I know, I connected with women of all ages that are in their late 20’s, 30’s and 40’s.
I only recommend products that I love. Many times, I had gentlemen writing me thanking me because they bought this or that product that I recommended for their wifes, girlfriends or friends that loved them! So yes, I have men who appreciate my content too.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My beginnings as a midlife content creator were not easy. I had my little inside voice asking me if I was going to succeed or fail sharing what I love by using my authentic style. I was also uncertain if my vision of wanting to have a well- defined audience (who appreciated creative content concepts that go beyond simple product reviews) was going to be possible to achieve. At the end, my motivation and determination was strong to fight against any odds. I transformed fears into positive thoughts in order to achieve my dreams, more so if I started creating content at an age were we can find ourselves “trapped” in certain stereotypes of how some people in our society expect us to be or look.
Social media can be fun, but it can also be an open door that can expose us to severe criticism. Believing in myself and all that I was capable of doing was fundamental to take the first steps and continue to succesfully moving forward in a broad market of beauty and fashion content creators. I have been very fortunate to meet wonderful supportive people that always have something beautiful to say about my content which motivates me to continue pursuing what I enjoy doing so much.
Another challenge:
“Discoverability”. With the vast amount of online content it can be extremely difficult to get noticed. Algorithm changes can also impact content reach and visibility, so I had to learn to be patient and trust the process.
I have had the pleasure to collaborate with high-end beauty brands that I never imagined that I would work with, not even in my younger years. It is very refreshing to see how the beauty industry is redefining the concept of what it means to thrive in midlife by welcoming middle age content creators as very powerful voices of inspiration and presence in social media to collaborate with them to promote their products and boosting brand awareness, primarilly focusing on helping others to feel confident in their own skin and also embracing aging feeling and looking fabulous!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
A vast majority of people who use social media are also consumers who constantly search for valuable insights and trustworthy opinions. One of my main goals as a content creator is to thrive on authenticity and relatability by sharing my honest experiences.
I like the term content creator, because in order to be one you need to be creative among other things. Creative people immerse themselves in dreams and “free” their imagination to turn those dreams into realities. I often have people ask me who helps me creating my videos and it makes smile because it must mean something good. I create the draftings, film, edit the video clips and take the photos myself.
I am focused on continuing with my passion and drive to pursue my dreams, and work even harder to continue developing my creative goals. Motivation is important and I have plenty of it. It is my daily reminder when I wake up and it is as absolutely necessary as is my freshly brewed morning coffee!!
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I haven’t had the luck to have a mentor. Everything I have learned has been driven primarily by passion, hard work, and patience.
My advice for networking would be based on my experiences through the years spent in social media:
You have to be authentic, show the “real you” to the world by using a consistent visual style, and offer content that people find interesting so you can establish a strong connection with them.
