Today we’d like to introduce you to Telaya Watson.
Hi Telaya, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I became a stay-at-home mom in 2022 after having my first little princess and moving to the Spring, TX area. During that transition, I found myself deeply craving community, a space where I could connect with other moms who understood the joys and challenges of motherhood.
I quickly realized how essential it is to have a strong support system you can lean on, and I often prayed that God would lead me to my “tribe.” After searching for a group that aligned with my personality and values, I noticed there weren’t many options in my area. So one day, I decided to write down what my ideal moms group would look like for me and my daughter and then I decided to create it myself.
Honestly, I was terrified. I’ve always been outgoing, but this was different. It felt vulnerable, especially opening up my world as a mom and introducing my little one to new people. Still, I chose to step out on faith and launched an Instagram page to connect with local moms and begin hosting small events.
From mommy strolls and neighborhood markets to fire station visits and more, I started meeting so many amazing mamas. Sixteen months later, many of those same women are still by my side, and what started as a simple idea has grown into a beautiful community that feels like family.
I am beyond grateful for how everything has unfolded and excited to continue growing this space for moms to connect, belong, and thrive.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, for the most part, it’s been a very smooth journey. The only real “struggle” I would say is myself at times, overthinking events and always wanting to go above and beyond to make everything perfect for the moms and kids who attend.
Other than that, I’ve been incredibly blessed. I have such a supportive and helpful group around me, and that has truly made everything feel lighter and much more manageable. I don’t take that for granted at all.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a stay-at-home wife and mom to two little princesses, and a devoted wife to my husband of seven years. I’m also the host of an amazing local moms group that has grown into a beautiful community of women and children.
I specialize in event planning and coordination, ranging from small, intimate local meetups to larger community-style events across the city. That’s really what I’ve become known for, creating intentional spaces where moms can connect, feel seen, and build friendships.
What I’m most proud of is my ability to balance motherhood while still bringing these events to life. It’s not always easy, but it’s deeply fulfilling.
I think what sets me apart is my faith and willingness to simply go for it, even when I’m doing it scared. I’ve learned to trust that if I take the step, God will handle the rest and continue to guide it in the right direction.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memories are centered around family gatherings. I’ve always been a huge family person, I loved being around my cousins, laughing, playing, and just enjoying time together.
I grew up with a younger sister who is two years younger than me, and we had such a beautiful childhood together. That bond really shaped me, and it’s something I’ve always wanted to recreate for my own daughters, who are also two years apart.
Some of my favorite memories include water days in the yard, movie nights at home, birthday parties, and big BBQs at my grandma’s house. Those simple, joyful moments are truly what I cherish most from my childhood.
