Photography has been in my blood since childhood, watching my dad, a man talented in everything he touched, capture life through a lens. That curiosity bloomed into a full-on passion by high school, and I went on to study it formally in college. But like a lot of us, life had other plans. The consistency of a 9-to-5 called, and I answered. Fast forward through the years, and something shifted my mindset in a way it never had before. What once felt overwhelming now feels effortless, and that clarity is everything. Today, I’m a Miami-born, Jamaican-rooted, Houston-raised entrepreneur relaunching StillSoulz Photography as a full luxury portrait experience, specializing in boudoir, lifestyle, and professional branding sessions that don’t just take your picture, they tell your story. The little girl who watched her dad behind the camera finally stepped in front of her own purpose, and she’s not looking back.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth? Absolutely not, and I think anyone who says their journey was easy is leaving out the best part of the story. There were real moments where I questioned everything, including myself. Imposter syndrome had a front row seat for a long time. I struggled with self-doubt, perfectionism, and honestly, just the fear of being seen. There was a point where I genuinely didn’t believe I was good enough, and that belief kept me smaller than I deserved to be. Balancing a 9-to-5 while trying to build something of your own is exhausting in its own right, and the pressure I put on myself to have everything perfect before launching? That alone set me back more times than I can count. I’ve restarted, reimagined, and rebuilt this thing more than once. But here’s what I know now, the struggle wasn’t a detour, it was the preparation. Every time I went back to the drawing board, I came back sharper, clearer, and more aligned with the vision I always had for StillSoulz. The road wasn’t smooth, but it was mine.

StillSoulz Photography is a luxury portrait studio in Houston, TX. We offer a high-end, full-experience photography experience that goes beyond just showing up and snapping photos. The studio specializes in three main vibes: luxury portraiture (solo, family, milestone moments), empowering boudoir (for self-celebration or gifting), and professional branding for the executives, coaches, and entrepreneurs out here building something real. And yes, travel is absolutely on the table. Clients nationwide can book destination sessions, too.
What really sets it apart is the full white glove experience, discovery calls, professional hair and makeup, wardrobe guidance, and a curated reveal appointment where you actually see your images presented as wall art in your space. Because the end goal was never just pretty photos sitting in a folder. It’s legacy artwork that lives on your walls and tells your story for years to come.
But honestly? What I’m most proud of is the feeling people leave with. That moment when a client sees themself, really sees themself, and something shifts? That’s everything to me. That’s the part no one can copy, and nothing can replace.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The quality I believe drives everything I do is my natural gift of encouragement, the deep, instinctive part of me that genuinely wants every person who walks through my door to leave feeling better than when they arrived. That’s not something I learned from a business course or developed as a strategy, it was already in me, and photography just gave it a home.
