Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Bean
Hi Tiffany, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I kind of fell into real estate! I moved from Portland, Oregon to Houston, Texas in 2016. I had been in fashion for 20 years and my realtor when I moved here asked me if I might be interested in joining their team. I thought he was great but didn’t have that great a connotation of realtors at the time. He explained that was the team he was on’s goal: to change how realtors worked to make it a better experience for all. That really stuck with me and I eventually did join him…fast forward 5 years and we ended up starting our own team! I feel very fortunate that I worked on a huge team for 5 years and learned so much! I was doing 50-75 transactions a year and two transactions are never the same so I learned a ton! We wanted to slow down and be able to give our clients the best service possible, which we have done and I love! I enjoy getting to know each client and help them navigate this crazy experience!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all!! But that’s how you learn! I have been really fortunate to work with some really talented agents and learn from each of them. And I learn from each transaction, you pick up ideas on each one that you can use with another in the future. The market is constantly changing…from week to week and neighborhood to neighborhood. I’ll have a listing that is a very easy sale and one that we try everything we can think of and still struggle to get it noticed. This is a career that never gets boring!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I really do care about my clients best interest! I have had realtors in the past that did not have my best interest in mind and were in it for the money. It makes such a difference. It can be frustrating because there are so many agents that are doing this for money that give everyone a bad reputation. It really is such a stressful thing to buy or sell a house. I just moved in September and was reminded how hard it is, and I know all the steps involved! I help so many people who have never bought a home before and there’s just so many areas that are very tricky to navigate or that I can help them navigate to a better outcome than they can on their own…I love helping make it just a little easier for people!
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
At 48 years old, I can say it’s true that you will regret the risks you don’t take and be proud of the ones you did! I have taken quite a few big risks in my life and am proud of those and how they worked out, not all were super successful, but I did learn from every risk I’ve taken. And I regret not going after a few things that I know I could have succeeded in if I hadn’t been to scared to try! The older I get the more I realize that our lives are pretty short and we are the only ones that can choose what we want to achieve in this life. You can wait and hope that someone else will get you to where you want to go or you can take the risk and go for it. I say go for it!
