Daily Inspiration: Meet Tiffany Clemons

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Clemons.

Tiffany, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story has been anything but linear, but I’ve learned that some of the most impactful journeys aren’t.

I’m originally from a small town in Kentucky, and moving to Charlotte was the beginning of me creating a life that was bigger than what I could see at the time. Professionally, I’ve spent more than a decade in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, recruiting, leadership, and workforce development. I’ve always loved helping people recognize their potential, whether that meant connecting someone to a career opportunity, mentoring them through a transition, or helping them see something in themselves they may not have recognized yet.

But entrepreneurship has always been in me too. In 2017, I launched Highland Avenue Boutique from my love of fashion and helping women feel confident. Then in 2021, I launched Highland Avenue Cleaning Services, which grew into an opportunity to serve families and businesses while also creating opportunities for others.

The part of my story I’m most proud of, though, isn’t necessarily what I’ve built—it’s who I’ve become while building it.

I’ve experienced layoffs, financial setbacks, career transitions, closed doors, unexpected pivots, and seasons where life looked completely different from what I had planned. There were moments when I had to rebuild while still showing up for my businesses, my community, and the people who depended on me. Those seasons taught me that my identity couldn’t be tied to a job title, salary, business, or even what success looked like from the outside.

I had to learn how to pivot—and eventually, I learned how to “Pivot on Purpose.”

Over time, my experiences naturally led me into mentorship, business strategy, speaking, and community building. I wanted to take everything I had learned—the wins and the hard lessons—and use it to help someone else move forward.

That same desire for impact led me to co-found Goals to Greatness alongside my business partner. We created it to bring entrepreneurs and corporate professionals together in spaces where they can connect, learn, collaborate, and gain access to opportunities and resources. For us, it has never been about simply hosting events. We want people to leave better than they came.

Today, I wear a lot of hats: entrepreneur, HR and Talent Acquisition professional, mentor, business strategist, speaker, and community builder. But when I look at everything I do, there’s one common thread—IMPACT.

And I’m still becoming. I haven’t “arrived,” and I actually think there’s something beautiful about being able to share my story while I’m still living it. My faith has taught me that sometimes the seasons that feel like setbacks are the very seasons God uses to develop you for what’s next.

If someone takes anything from my story, I hope it’s this: a pivot doesn’t mean you failed. Sometimes you’re simply being redirected, stretched, and prepared for something that requires a different version of you.

I’m still becoming that version of myself—and I’m learning to embrace every part of the journey.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, and I think that’s what makes the journey meaningful.

One of my biggest struggles has been learning how to keep going when life doesn’t look anything like what I planned. I’ve experienced being laid off, financial setbacks, career transitions, business challenges, health challenges, and seasons where I was trying to rebuild personally while still showing up professionally.

There have been moments when I’ve questioned myself. I’ve had to go from being established in my career to navigating uncertainty and figuring out what was next. I’ve had seasons where I was the person encouraging, mentoring, and pouring into everyone else while privately trying to find the strength to keep pouring into myself.

Entrepreneurship has humbled me too. Building a business sounds exciting—and it is—but there are also slow months, clients you lose, financial sacrifices, lessons you learn the expensive way, and times when you have to wear every hat because you simply don’t have the resources to outsource everything yet. I’ve learned that being a business owner requires just as much resilience as it does strategy.

I’ve also had to learn that starting over doesn’t erase everything I’ve accomplished. Sometimes starting over simply means taking everything you’ve learned with you into a new season.

My faith has played a major role in how I’ve navigated those seasons. There have been times when I didn’t understand what God was doing or why certain doors closed, but I’ve learned that I don’t always need to understand the entire plan to take the next step.

That’s really where “Pivot on Purpose” became personal for me. It isn’t just something I say—it’s something I’ve had to live. I’ve learned how to adjust without giving up, rebuild without being ashamed of rebuilding, and continue believing there is purpose in every season.

The road hasn’t been smooth, but every challenge has given me something I can now use to help someone else. And for me, that makes the journey worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work lives at the intersection of people, strategy, entrepreneurship, and impact. I have more than a decade of experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, recruiting, leadership, and workforce development, while also building businesses of my own. As the founder of Highland Avenue Boutique and Highland Avenue Cleaning Services, a mentor and business strategist, and co-founder of Goals to Greatness, much of what I do centers around helping people move forward—whether that’s in their career, business, or through meaningful connections and opportunities. I’m also growing my work as a speaker through my message, “Pivot on Purpose,” where I share what I’ve learned about navigating transitions, rebuilding, entrepreneurship, career development, and finding purpose in unexpected seasons.

What I’m most proud of is seeing the impact beyond a title, business, or event—someone gaining clarity, making a valuable connection, stepping into a new opportunity, or simply feeling encouraged to keep going. What sets me apart is that I don’t lead from theory alone. I’ve been the recruiter and the job seeker, the entrepreneur celebrating the wins and figuring things out during the hard seasons, and the mentor pouring into others while navigating my own pivots. Those experiences allow me to genuinely meet people where they are while helping them see what’s possible next. No matter which hat I’m wearing, my goal remains the same: create impact and help open doors for someone else.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
If there’s anything I’d leave with readers, it’s this: don’t be afraid of the pivot. Life may not always unfold the way you imagined, and sometimes the season you’re in won’t look anything like the vision you had for yourself. That doesn’t mean the vision is over. Give yourself permission to evolve, start again, ask for help, and take the next step even when you don’t have the entire plan figured out.

I’m still building, learning, healing, growing, and becoming—and I’m okay with sharing my story from the middle instead of waiting until everything looks perfect. My faith has taught me that there can be purpose even in the seasons I don’t understand. So wherever you are in your journey, keep going, stay open to what’s next, and remember: sometimes the pivot is part of the purpose.
