Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Tran.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been drawn to aesthetics. When I was young, my dream jobs included fashion design, modeling, and anything related to the fashion industry. As I got older, I decided to pursue nursing instead, despite my deep-rooted passion for design.
After graduating from college, I worked as a nurse for a few years. While I genuinely loved caring for my patients, I constantly felt like I was yearning for something more, like a part of me was missing. I continued modeling, and even began designing my own photoshoot sets as a creative outlet, but eventually I realized design as a hobby wasn’t enough. Creativity had always been a part of who I was, and I wanted it to be more than just something I did on the side.
Ultimately, I made the decision to transition from nursing to event design. From the moment I started, I knew this was where I belonged. It gave me the opportunity to combine artistry with intention, creating experiences that are not only beautiful but meaningful. This transitional experience also reignited my passion for set design and inspired me to launch my own styling and creative direction brand, Veris Design.
Through Veris Design, my goal is to encourage people to express themselves confidently through photography by thoughtfully combining styling, makeup, and set design. I believe every session should feel personal and tell the unique story of the person in front of the camera. Being able to take someone’s vision and bring it to life is the most rewarding part of what I do.
Looking back, I don’t think I abandoned one identity for another. Nursing taught me empathy, resilience, and how to connect with people, qualities that have shaped the way I approach every creative project. The difference is that now, I get to express myself in a way that feels true to who I’ve always been. Choosing a creative career has allowed me to turn something I’ve loved my entire life into meaningful work, and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not. I think the biggest challenge was giving myself permission to start over. I had spent years working toward a career in nursing, so deciding to leave that behind came with a lot of uncertainty. There was always that little voice asking if I was making the right decision or if I was throwing away everything I had worked so hard for.
Starting over in a completely different industry also means constantly learning something new. Event design is so much more than creating something beautiful, it requires problem-solving, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to adapt when things don’t go as planned. There were definitely moments where I questioned myself, but each project helped build my confidence and reinforced that I was exactly where I was supposed to be.
I also think one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that creativity can be incredibly personal. Putting your ideas out into the world means opening yourself up to criticism, and that can be intimidating. Over time, I’ve learned to trust my instincts more, embrace feedback, and remember that growth comes from continuing to create, even when things aren’t perfect.

Veris Design is a styling and creative direction brand focused on creating personalized experiences through photography. I specialize in bringing a vision to life to create images that feel authentic and reflective of the person being photographed.
What I love most about this work is creating an environment where people feel confident expressing themselves. My goal is not only to create a beautiful final image, but to create a collaborative experience where people feel seen, empowered, and comfortable stepping into their own creativity.
What sets Veris Design apart is the personal connection behind every project. My background in modeling has given me a unique perspective on both sides of the camera. I understand what it feels like to be the subject, but I also understand the importance of creating a thoughtful environment behind the scenes. Combined with my experience in event design, I approach each project with an eye for detail and a focus on creating a cohesive aesthetic that feels personal and intentional from concept to final image.
How do you think about luck?
I feel incredibly lucky to have a strong support system of friends and family who have encouraged me to pursue my passions and take risks along the way. Having people who believe in you, especially when you’re stepping into uncertainty, is something I never take for granted.
Beyond that, I don’t necessarily view my journey as a series of lucky or unlucky moments. I believe that every experience, whether good or challenging, has played a role in guiding me to where I am today. Some of the hardest moments in my life have ultimately pushed me toward growth, change, and opportunities I may not have found otherwise.
Starting Veris Design and pursuing a creative path has been a journey of trusting the process and listening to what feels aligned with who I am. I think the biggest “luck” has been having the courage to recognize those moments and follow where they lead me.
