Daily Inspiration: Meet Toni Murphy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toni Murphy.

Hi Toni, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story really started with a passion for fashion, branding, and helping people and businesses show up in a way that felt authentic and impactful. I started my career in Atlanta as a fashion stylist and eventually turned that experience into my own business, Top Style Branding, which I launched in 2015. Through that work, I began realizing that my strengths went beyond visual styling—I was really interested in the strategy behind how brands connect with people, launch products, tell stories, and create experiences.

That led me to transition more deeply into marketing, communications, and brand strategy. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work across different industries and lead everything from campaigns and social media to influencer marketing, PR, email marketing, partnerships, and brand launches. Most recently, as a Marketing & PR Manager, I’ve been leading marketing strategy, managing a team, launching initiatives like a loyalty program, building an influencer program, and using data and audience insights to drive campaigns and engagement.

What has been consistent throughout my journey is that I love connecting the creative side of marketing with the business side. I’m at my best when I can take a business objective, find the story within it, and turn that into a strategy and creative idea that actually moves people and delivers results.

Today, I see myself as a creative and strategic marketing leader who brings together brand, storytelling, culture, and execution. I’m excited about this next chapter because I’m looking for an opportunity where I can bring everything I’ve learned, lead at a larger level, and help build brands and campaigns that have a meaningful business impact.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, and I think some of my biggest growth has come from navigating those challenges. Building my own business while also growing professionally taught me how to be resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable figuring things out without always having a clear roadmap.

There have also been moments where I had to navigate career transitions, take on more responsibility than I initially expected, and learn how to advocate for my ideas and leadership. Early in my career, I sometimes focused more on proving that I could do the work than communicating the value of the work strategically. As I’ve grown, I’ve learned to think more like a business leader—connecting creative ideas to objectives, measurable outcomes, and the bigger picture.

Those challenges have shaped how I lead today. I’m more resilient, more confident in my perspective, and much more comfortable embracing change. I’ve learned that the road doesn’t have to be perfect for you to make meaningful progress. Sometimes the challenges are what force you to become the leader you’re capable of being.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work lives at the intersection of creativity, branding, marketing, and storytelling. I specialize in helping brands find their voice, build meaningful connections with their audiences, and turn ideas into strategic campaigns that create real impact. My background began in fashion and visual branding, but over the years, that evolved into a broader career in marketing, where I’ve led brand campaigns, PR, social media, influencer programs, email marketing, partnerships, and product and program launches.

I’m known for being someone who can see both the big picture and the details needed to bring a vision to life. I love taking an idea that may start as a conversation and turning it into something tangible—a campaign, a brand experience, a launch, or a story that people can actually connect with. I’m also very entrepreneurial, which has taught me to be resourceful, adaptable, and willing to figure things out when there isn’t a blueprint.

I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve been able to build a career around something I genuinely love while continuing to evolve. From building my own branding company to leading marketing initiatives for established organizations, I’ve had the opportunity to create work that combines creativity with purpose and results.

What sets me apart is that I don’t believe great marketing is just about making something look good. It’s about understanding people, culture, business, and the story you’re trying to tell—and bringing all of those pieces together. I bring a creative eye, a strategic mind, and an entrepreneurial spirit to everything I do, and I think that combination is what makes my approach uniquely mine.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is simply being around my family and the moments when everyone was together. Some of my fondest memories are the everyday ones—laughing, listening to stories, getting dressed up, celebrating special occasions, and just enjoying time together.

Looking back, I realize those moments shaped a lot of who I am today. I’ve always been drawn to creativity, self-expression, and bringing people together, and I think some of that started very early in my life. As an adult, I appreciate those memories even more because they remind me that sometimes the simplest moments become the ones you carry with you forever.
