Hi Ty, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! I am a native Texan who always claims Houston as home. I consider myself as a Christmas enthusiast, as I have always been passionate about making holidays magical, especially Christmas. Every year, I would decorate my own home with unique and luxe Christmas tree designs, drawing the attention of family and friends. This prompted me to share my love and passion for holiday decorating online, where I quickly learned there was an untapped market for holiday decorators. I found that many people wanted to bring the magic of Christmas into their home but did not have the desire or time to do so…and that is how Styled Holiday Decor was born!
My business has grown quickly into a full-service holiday decorating company that services residential and commercial clients in Houston and beyond. I pride myself in providing luxe holiday decor, excellent customer service, carefully curated holiday designs that delight our clients and their guests.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenges I’ve encountered with being a start-up small business is the steep learning curve. I started this business to be creative and service my clients, but there’s so much more to owning a small business. The back-end operations, building your brand, juggling competing priorities, all the while servicing your clients and providing excellent customer service. Looking back, I wouldn’t say it’s been easy but it’s been fun…The end result of bringing Christmas magic to my clients make it all worth it!
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
One thing to know about professional holiday decorating is it takes a lot of planning and preparation. In the holiday decor business, I have to be equal parts creative as I am customer service focused. My clients expect a high level of professionalism and creative vision to bring their holiday designs to life. I have to appeal to multiple different types of design aesthetics, budgets, and timeframes. Believe it or not, I am already focused on designing, purchasing and booking clients for Christmas 2024 because I love creating one-of-a-kind, unique designs that bring to life a client’s desires for their holiday season.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Houston is its diversity and energy! It always something to try and do here. There are no limits to the growth we can have in Houston.
