Today we’d like to introduce you to Wayne Flint.
Hi Wayne, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My brand is Digital Art that expresses love for humanity and reverence for the animal kingdom with an intentional cultural focus on African Americans’ contributions that impact all of mankind.
This was an unintentional path that was discovered through physical adversity which provided a dual healing effect personally and for the culture. I like that I am shining the spotlight on the past, Highlighting current achievements, and the expression of nature’s beauty all generate an irresistible emotional response-happiness, sadness, love, and anger which is a remedy to counter the numbness of Life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, but challenges created growth and unexpected opportunities. Personal factors: physical adversity due to motor vehicle accident and external factor: Pandemic has led me to fully explore and focus on my creative side. The result has been Digital Oil Painting and navigating the Art World that has been a healing factor for me both physically and mentally. Barriers have been allowing myself to be vulnerable enough to deliver my personal art to the world and then turn off all the social media critics and trolls. This self defense mechanism is used to stay pure to my point of view and confidence while deflecting the self-doubt and hesitancy that comes along with the industry.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a digital painter & book illustrator born in San Antonio, Texas. I currently live in Houston, where I work as a gallery coordinator & visual artist. My inspiration is wildlife art, portraits, impressionism paintings, and people with style.
I work in the digital art medium using a customized digital tablet & adobe software. My works have been published in various magazines related to the art world & have exhibited several times @ shows & art auctions across the United States.
I’m most proud of being featured by Adobe Curated Gallery 23x to date, and having my brand selected to sell in the Faire wholesale marketplace.
What’s next?
My future plans are doing freelance work with fashion, car, and sneaker brands, hosting Art Auctions, and opening an Art Gallery. My long term goal is to establish Art Education Institute that exposes minorities and low income communities to the healing effect of the beauty of art.
