Hi William , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The shift from music to film really helped me see storytelling from a different perspective. As a rapper, I was already used to expressing emotions, experiences, and stories through lyrics. But once I started focusing on film, I realized how powerful visual storytelling could be. It wasn’t just about capturing moments—it was about crafting an experience that could resonate with people in a new way. My approach now blends both the artistry of music and the creativity of filmmaking. The way I create content today, whether it’s a music video or a full documentary, is shaped by my roots in music and my passion for telling stories in multiple forms. Houston, with its rich culture, has been the perfect backdrop for that evolution.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely took some time to be embraced in the filming and videography scene here in Houston. As a native New Yorker, I was seen as an outsider at first, and people weren’t sure how to react to me. But over time, they saw my genuine passion for filmmaking and the deep love I have for the city. I think once they saw that I wasn’t just here to take, but to contribute and connect with the culture, they began to open up and embrace me. Now, I’m proud to be a part of Houston’s creative community and to have earned their respect.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Heavybetters Entertainment has come a long way, evolving from a simple blog on social media to a full-fledged multimedia company. We’ve expanded into everything from interviews and music videos to documentaries and short films. What I’m most proud of is our consistency—staying true to our vision and pushing the boundaries of what we can do. From that foundation, we’ve launched exciting projects like Couples Corners, Outside.tv, Houston Raised, and comedy specials that are coming soon. And honestly, this is just the beginning. There’s so much more to come as we continue to grow and create content that resonates with our audience.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I loved to explore and I was very adventurous as a kid. I always had an interest in art all forms whether it was drawing, music or any other form of art
