We’re looking forward to introducing you to Emily Marshall . Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Emily , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I am 100% a wanderer. I almost never follow the path. Life itself is chaotic. Nobody knows what to do or where to go, so instead of following the path that others have walked before me, I have decided to wander around and find my own way.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey! I’m Emily. The owner of Rosaries by Emily.
One of the things that makes my brand interesting and special is how many different styles that we cater to. Sometimes a brand will only cater 21 type of style.Whereas we try our best to have a wide variety of different styles and aesthetics. Something for everybody is my goal!
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
I feel like my mother taught me the most about work. She did it all on her own while working twp to three jobs at a time. She always made sure we had what we needed And she never bought herself something first. As a child, you notice these things and over time, my mom while working these jobs, as well as going to college, was able to secure the job of her dreams And finally, be able to take a step back and focus on only one career.
She taught me that even through the toughest times if you stay true to your path and continue working as hard as you can, you can achieve your goals and dreams.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I feel like suffering in life taught me humility and appreciation for the small things. I feel like with everything that i’ve been through in life.I have learned how important even the smallest detail is. Everything is put together piece by piece. And every single piece is important instead of just staring at the big picture I like to dig down and figure out all of the little pieces.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I always strive to be the real version of myself in public and in private. I don’t like the idea of masking one’s personality in order to blend in with those around them. Being true to yourself and being you is extremely important in life.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If immortality were real, what would you build?
I feel like if immortality were real.I would build the world’s largest and most extensive library.I would make sure to carve all the details into the bookshelves.Have everything color coded alphabetized, sorted by genre author and even the time that it came out. I would like to find even the oldest written books and have them in my library.
